This Raccoon Hatsune Miku setup truly brings out the Halloween and dark gothic atmosphere to the fullest. The primary color scheme features a classic combination of black, white, and red, accented by striking aqua blue twin-tails and a matching tie—this high-contrast color clash creates an immense visual impact. The wig was meticulously styled starting from our group shoot early this year, and even now maintains fantastic fluffiness and a natural hair-flow drape. The twin-tails combined with ribbon hairbands infuse a playful, lively charm into the otherwise tough, edgy leather ensemble.
The set construction on the shooting day was exceptionally thoughtful. The red velvet curtains with gold tassels in the background instantly pulled the frame into a vintage theater or mysterious castle vibe. White Roman columns, baroque golden picture frames, hanging birdcages, plus iconic Halloween jack-o'-lanterns and gold balloons rich in elements without looking cluttered. The black, highly reflective floor reflection gave the picture great spatial extension and depth. Overall, the style perfectly resonates with the spirit of \"Happy Halloween.\"
When it came to choosing props, beyond apples and pumpkins, the long-handled trident was definitely the core visual anchor of the shots. Posing with this prop was actually a considerable challenge, as its length and weight required fine wrist control to balance properly. But I love the visual tension it brings—whether resting on the ground in a standing pose or extending diagonally across the frame while seated, it breaks the stiffness of square compositions. Among these photo sets, I particularly adore the frame where I sit on a white stone pedestal holding the trident in one hand; paired with a deliberately calibrated intense gaze, it perfectly conveys a little devil's confident and mysterious aura.
For lighting treatment, we chose hard direct key flashes complemented by overhead rim lighting, which beautifully highlighted the surface sheen of the black leather corset and patent leather long boots, while clearly accentuating the wig's lustrous highlights and facial makeup texture. In studio Cosplay photography for dark styles, using high-contrast hard light makes it much easier to create dramatic contrast and renders costume fabric details with three-dimensional richness, avoiding dark shadows turning into muddy blobs.
Releasing the solo version on social media first, the full group photoshoot actually features even more fun interactions and multi-person compositions. Thinking back to early this year when preparing this Raccoon Hatsune Miku set with fellow fans—divvying up makeup tasks, lugging heavy props around the studio together to hunt for angles—the whole process was immensely joyful. Every time I look at these finished photos, I recall the focused dedication in front of the monitor, repeatedly checking skirt pleats, stocking tightness, and wig-tip curves.
The standout feature of this look is undoubtedly those ultra-high platform boots. They dramatically elongate lower-body proportions visually, exuding an imposing aura, while pairing with black fishnet stockings and buckle-strap elements to create a powerful \"dangerous yet enchanting\" contrast under the dark theme. Complemented by detailed black-and-white plaid miniskirts, metallic ring belts, and small black devil horns overhead, it seamlessly merges classic Halloween tropes with character traits. Maintaining this outfit required painstaking care, where complex corset lacing and skirt edge stitching put our wardrobe patience to the test.
Looking at overall composition and emotional delivery, this Halloween cosplay photoshoot fits the theme exceptionally well—replacing pure cuteness with cool sharpness, and single-note sweetness with captivating mystery. For a Gothic style girl cosplay, stepping out of daily comfort zones to challenge exaggerated makeup and dramatic posing was a thoroughly refreshing endeavor. I hope everyone can feel a touch of dark ACG romance through these photos during the Halloween season.
