[Jinhsi cosplay] Wuthering Waves: Spring Cherry Blossom Photography Share of Jinhsi — Peach Blossom

After finishing the shoot for this Jinhsi — Peach Blossom look, while sorting through the raw shots, I decided to share the two best photos first. The candid angles captured by photographer @Juecai📷 truly understood the character's essence, and paired with the weather's light and shadow, the final results exceeded all expectations.

The first photo was shot with backlighting, where the sunlight pierced through the sheer tulle right at the shoulder, creating a natural, soft lens flare. To achieve this texture during the shoot, we opened the aperture as wide as possible and positioned me in backlighting so the red and blue tulle of the dress could glow with the light, instantly maximizing the atmosphere. However, since it was cherry blossom season, it was very windy on-site, and fluttering petals frequently interfered with the camera's focus, so it took many attempts to capture this satisfying shot.

The second photo switched to a low-angle upward shot, with the blue sky and low-hanging floral branches in the background. The cooler tones were more suitable for conveying the character's cool and serene elegance. To complement this angle, I adjusted my pose slightly, balancing my hand gestures and gaze with the overall styling.

The styling and makeup process took considerable effort as well. The wig was silvery-white, styled into double buns, adorned with pink flowers and a golden forehead ornament. Every step required meticulous adjustments and securing to prevent the wind from blowing it apart. In terms of the costume, the interlocking red, blue, and white sheer layers created a rich sense of depth and a wonderful drape, complemented by subtle embroidered patterns along the hem. Although it was a bit heavy to wear, it was totally worth it for the results. Body lines, especially the leg contours, were clearly accentuated when lifting the skirt hem.

From preliminary test makeup to final styling and scouting the ideal cherry blossom trees, the preparation took over a week. During shooting, we constantly smoothed out the folds of the skirt hem to ensure its beautiful textures shone through under the backlight. The photographer patiently guided my poses, particularly how to use the hem to block parts of the light and enhance the sense of mystery. Whenever the breeze blew and the sheer skirt billowed, pressing the shutter made it easiest to capture that airy, dynamic motion.

For post-processing color grading, the priority was subtly shifting skin tones toward a cool porcelain white while keeping cheek blush from being too heavy to maintain an overall translucent quality. Different layers were also used to manage lighting, retaining more detail in backlit areas while softening the cherry blossom background.

Overall, these photos faithfully captured the character's unique charm, with a lot of thought poured into every lighting effect and composition. Commemorating this spring's cherry blossom photography—the entire experience was wonderful.
