This white and pink woven look is what I chose to present to everyone at this year's Hypergryph Carnival. From the moment I finalized this costume, I was looking forward to bringing out Thumpy's cute yet energetic vibe at the convention.
Let's talk about the outfit coordination details first. The pair of large ears on top of my head is one of the essential highlights of the entire look. The fluffy pink animal ears instantly max out the character's ambiance; to maintain their shape, I put a lot of effort into securing them to the wig. For hair accessories, white four-petal flower clips were used as accents, paired with light pink twin-tails to immediately bring out a bright, youthful girl vibe. The jacket utilizes a large area of white, with its loose fit and semi-transparent gauze sleeves creating visual lightness and layering that fits the convention floor lighting perfectly. The black bow at the inner shirt's collar and the vibrant orange fingerless gloves at the wrists create a striking color contrast, making the outfit less monotonous and adding lively energy. For the bottom, a skirt with black plush trim was paired with white stockings cosplay tights, finished with black-and-white platform sneakers. It's especially worth mentioning the texture of these white stockings—combined with sitting and standing poses, they elongate the leg lines beautifully while making the entire styling feel complete.
For makeup, I emphasized eye contours; the eyeliner and lash work made my gaze look deeper yet innocent. Paired with orange-red lip color and blush, I aimed to present a natural, sweet, and confident state in front of the lens. On shooting day, the live lighting and venue were exceptionally great for expression, and the photographer really understood how to capture character traits. Among these photos, my favorite is the full-body shot sitting on the high stool. At that moment, I intentionally spread out the white jacket hem to both sides and crossed my legs, which, combined with the neon frame behind me and dark background, created a shot that felt both tech-inspired and filled with innocent playfulness. The sitting pose on the floor carries a more relaxed, casual vibe; although I added a little bear sticker for localized coverage due to camera angles, it doesn't hinder showing off the character's uniquely soft and cute qualities.
I have to say, the vibe at Hypergryph Carnival was absolutely amazing. Even though it was hot August, the venue was packed with the passion of anime enthusiasts. Walking through the halls in this outfit, I could feel the goodwill and resonance in everyone's eyes. Every time I passed fan art booths or heard quiet compliments from passersby, it made those months of preparing the costume, carefully styling the wig, and researching makeup feel completely worth it. Because of passion, we strive to take details to the absolute limit. Under the cool-toned highlights of the venue lighting, white garments produce a subtle reflection; thus, during post-processing color grading, I preferred preserving the scene's light-and-shadow depth rather than chasing flat high brightness, letting the character blend deeply into the convention environment.
As an enthusiast who frequently participates in Anime cosplay shoots, I deeply understand that a great photo set is far more than just putting on a costume and posing; it requires a harmonious synergy between character, outfit, makeup, camera angles, and live environment. From fabric selection to wig combing, from the angle of raising a hand to where the gaze lands—every single step helps me better become her. Leaving behind a set of work that satisfies myself and is liked by everyone amidst a bustling expo is a deeply fulfilling achievement. That's all for today's sharing.
