Bringing Marie's idol look from Blue Archive to life required extensive preparation across wardrobe and props. The foundation of the outfit is a monochrome dress featuring a white bodice with corset-style tailoring, requiring the black ruffles along the neckline and shoulders to be layered with precision. The bright yellow bow pinned with a metallic crest badge at the chest serves as the visual centerpiece. The skirt is the highlight—the black outer layer is stamped with white gear motifs, layered over a pleated white petticoat crinoline that delivers sharp, dimensional tiers in motion. The headpiece was notably intricate: the vibrant orange wig required precise trimming and styling to support the cat ears, while securely anchoring the gilded star frame and rose-feather corsage. With dynamic stage poses, bobby pins had to be hidden deep within the fibers to avoid showing on camera. The cosmetics were tailored to the idol aesthetic, intensifying eyeshadow and blush, paired with warm amber contact lenses and long, pristine white manicured nails.

The shoot took place on a stage outfitted with authentic musical gear. The floor was laid in a black-and-white checkerboard pattern against circular metallic stage trusses, bathed in blue and white spotlights that perfectly suited the ensemble. The setup featured a keyboard synthesizer, a white electric guitar, and a crimson drum kit branded across the bass drum skin. In hand, I wielded a vintage circular microphone mounted on a black upright floor stand. To complement different camera framings, I explored various stances. When seated, spreading the skirt panels wide while crossing my legs highlighted the pairing of sheer black stockings and platform Mary Janes—a pose that opened up the full contour of the skirt while visually elongating the legs, making it my favorite frame of the shoot. In standing poses, one hand steadied the mic stand while the other reached toward the lens, simulating an interactive live performance on stage.

To achieve optimal visual depth, the lighting angles were adjusted repeatedly. Powerful top and side lights carved out the silhouette of the dress while making the orange wig glow with vibrant luminescence. Because the outfit includes black flared arm sleeves hemmed with pale grey piping, raising my arms easily caused them to blend into the dark background; thus, I paid special attention to arm angles so the contours of the sleeves caught the rim light. The platform shoes were quite heavy, causing fatigue after standing on the checkered floor for hours, but I persevered to keep full-body proportions flattering. The synergy between the outfit and the set was remarkable—from prop placement to lighting temperature, every nuance was dialed in to evoke the essence of an authentic idol concert. This ornate style demands absolute precision in Stockings cosplay; a crooked fold in a ribbon or a stray wig fiber could disrupt the visual polish, keeping us constantly fine-tuning every take.
