I've finally sorted through my Day 1 Event photo delivery from the CICF Expo! Bringing Taihou's pajama look to life was an all-day endurance test of physical stamina and micro-expressions. I was up by 5:00 AM for hair and makeup; anchoring this oversized plush ear headwear required multiple tiers of clips and pins from the stylist. Because of its generous volume, navigating the exhibition halls meant constantly checking my surroundings to avoid bumping into passersby.
For the shoot, we chose a tropical-themed lounge area situated just outside the expo, framed by sprawling lush greenery. Taihou's sleepwear design is lavishly ornate: a pure white base accented with crimson ruffles, topped with plush pom-poms across the bodice and sleeve cuffs. The semi-sheer fabric takes on gorgeous dimensional depth in natural daylight. However, because the textile is so airy and delicate, bending over or making large shoulder movements easily introduces bulk, so I wore seamless skin-tone underlayers to prevent any exposure mishaps while walking around all day (automods, please be kind!). To keep my silhouette sculpted, I maintained an upright posture, engaged my core, and lowered my shoulders throughout takes—ensuring that even during languid lounging poses, the structural bone lines never collapsed.
The first shot, tilting my head with a smile while resting a foot atop the plushie, actually happened when my feet gave out and I slumped onto the cushion, which the photographer captured candidly. That yellow plush toy is such an iconic motif in Taihou's sleepwear art, and tucking it beneath my foot added a delightfully whimsical touch. In the second frame, I reclined across the sofa, propping myself with one hand while the red-and-white skirt cascaded naturally, visually elongating my leg lines. Having grown accustomed to rigid combat rigging, slipping into soft, fluffy loungewear framed by vibrant leaves created a wonderful, contrasting sense of ease.
Taihou canonically carries a dangerous yet deeply alluring, languid charm. In portraying this pajama concept, I reined in forced dramatic posing, letting my gaze do the talking while blending with the dappled garden light to create a frame that feels intimate yet true to character. The flared bell sleeves and ruffles are notoriously sensitive to movement, bunching up at the slightest tilt; every few exposures demanded smoothing the folds and resetting the sleeve hems. Picking these two favorites owed everything to faithful costuming and the photographer's sharp eye for light—the sweeping green backdrop paired with the vibrant red-and-white palette formed striking chromatic harmony. These shots earned my top spot for Day 1 of CICF Expo not just because the foliage and lighting harmonized so seamlessly, but because they preserved my most relaxed state, closest to the character's authentic soul. How do you all like this soft, fluffy aesthetic?
