Just before the convention ended, I finally finished shooting this long-awaited Azur Lane Racing suit cosplay set. I always thought this outfit had too many details and was worried the Convention photos wouldn't turn out well, but I was quite pleasantly surprised seeing the final results.
This time, I specifically chose cool-toned soft lighting and a blue-and-white color scheme to recreate the character's capable and striking racer vibe. The outfit is made of glossy material with some patchwork designs; it's a bit tight to wear, but paired with over-the-knee semi-transparent stockings and patent leather high heels, it really brings out the overall silhouette, making it ideal for Stockings photography. The wig is a silver-white to blue gradient, which took some effort to style—the bangs had to be secured under the hat brim while maintaining volume. The aviator sunglasses on the hat are truly the finishing touch; they look great whether flipped up or worn over the eyes.
The lighting at the venue was quite mixed during the shoot, but the photographer was great at finding angles, using the on-site softboxes to clearly outline the character's silhouette. Waving that large checkered flag in hand really required some arm strength; my arms were sore after a few sets, but it was worth it for the visual effect. I really like the sitting pose in picture 4; it perfectly shows off the side waist cutouts of the outfit and the lines of the legs, and looking naturally at the camera feels much more comfortable than deliberately posing.
This kind of slightly sexy yet sporty design really tests how well the makeup matches the outfit, especially this bodysuit paired with leg wrapping, which can easily look bulky if not careful. Luckily, everything blended well this time. Looking at the playback while shooting, I felt I successfully captured the character's confidence and composure.
I've sorted out some raw Convention photos from the scene; the condition is quite natural with not much post-processing, relying mainly on the initial lighting and angles. As an amateur who loves challenging various outfit designs, being able to showcase the unique charm of the naval flagship through this Corporate cosplay brings a great sense of accomplishment. If I have the chance next time, I'd like to try scenes with richer prop interactions, like adding a race car or pit stop background, which would definitely be more immersive.
