[Hanazuki Cosplay] Modernized Cheongsam and Cute Fox Ears Combination

Styling this Hanazuki look took nearly an hour, and today I finally organized the finished photos from the studio shoot. Hanazuki in Azur Lane naturally possesses a playful and agile temperament, and this fusion of cheongsam cosplay and fox elements adds a touch of classical elegance on top of the anime-style cute appeal.

The huge black-and-white animal ears atop the head serve as the visual centerpiece of the entire look. To ensure they maintained an upright angle in front of the lens, aluminum wire was hidden inside the headband, and the connection position between the wig and the ears was adjusted several times. This way, whether looking down at the round fan or up at the camera, the ears wouldn't visibly tilt. The red-and-gold flower accessory at the neck paired with the red ribbon brightened the overall white-and-pink base tone nicely, enriching the upper body's layering.

For the outfit, a modernized short white cheongsam was selected, featuring lace-like fine textures. The keyhole design accented with gold lines fits the character's refined aesthetic while the short cut adds a crisp feel. The red-and-white ruffled sleeves paired with fluffy white sleeves on the arms not only echo the overall kemonomimi outfit theme, but also weave velvet and sheer gauze textures together when capturing dynamic turning movements, making the frame appear soft. The thick white plush shawl draped around the shoulders greatly enhances visual weight, making the leg area in stockings look even more delicate.

The leg styling was another highlight of this shoot. Semi-sheer white stockings paired with a slender thigh ring adorned with gold stars created a subtle detail when viewed alone, yet elevated the overall delicacy within the white-pink and gold palette. Hanazuki's agility largely stems from her flowing skirt hem and tail; the giant white fluffy fox tail behind me was not only impressive in volume, but when the fur texture was handled properly, it presented a soft fluffiness under studio lighting.

A studio set with warm yellow light ambience was used during shooting, complemented by wooden folding screens and long benches in the background, along with pink petals and gold dust effects scattered on set, greatly enhancing the dreamy, romantic texture. The round fan in my hand adorned with 3D flowers served as a perfect interactive prop for this look; whether partially covering the face or casually resting by the knees, it allowed my posture to appear composed and rich with narrative.

In the final photos, to facilitate sharing on certain social platforms, I placed cute cartoon pattern stickers over the chest area, though stripping away these covers leaves the garment's own tailoring and texture exceptionally superior. This shoot experimented with several different sitting postures and perspectives in Anime-style photography, creating a nice contrast between the weight of the wood and the character's lightness. The entire shooting process went smoothly with excellent communication with the photographer. Portraying Hanazuki gave me deeper insights into blending classical and cute styles, and I hope to convey that charming yet spiritually vivid feel of the character.
