Presenting this set of Convention photo captures of Denia in her second form from Wuthering Waves at CICF Expo—a project where immense thought went into everything from wardrobe design to kinetic posing. I had been longing to cos this specific form for quite a while, and the anime expo finally gave me the chance to bring the vision to life; the on-site presence turned out even better than anticipated.

Let's talk about the overall texture of the ensemble first. The core navy blue slip dress was crafted from lustrous satin, which caught the convention hall's overhead spotlights to cast a gorgeous sheen, harmonizing beautifully with the character's mysterious, lavish aesthetic. The visual anchor is the grand gold brooch set with a crimson gem at the chest, connected to golden chain swags and triangular drop pendants that swayed gracefully with every movement. The skirt features an asymmetrical cut: the navy outer layer is adorned with gilded linework and pink-purple patterns, revealing cascading white petticoat layers underneath. To honor the lore's leg styling, I wore dark patterned tights (Stockings cosplay) swirled with blue nebula textures, echoing the metallic chain straps wrapping around the footwear. For the arms, sheer blue mesh spliced with pink-and-white sleeve covers and capped with silver metallic wrist bangles offered a captivating interplay of contrasting textures.

Regarding hair and makeup, the pink wig was styled into dual bun updos accented with black bat-wing hairpieces and azure teardrop gems, while the black serrated forehead piece was clipped directly into the bangs. For makeup, I chose violet-red contact lenses and accentuated soft pink gradients across the lower eyelids, striving to highlight her cool, detached allure. The purple four-pointed star across my collarbone was specifically rendered via body paint, while the black hovering disc halo above my head was engineered to match the original design as closely as possible.

The shooting process was definitely a physical challenge. The photographer, Youying, excels at freezing motion; to capture that perfect moment of billowing hems and fluttering locks, we repeatedly rehearsed spins and dynamic strides. Gestures like aiming a single-handed finger gun, resting fingers softly against the cheek, and spreading arms wide to both sides were tailored to inject intense drama into the frames. The fourth photograph was seized after several takes: the arch of the flared skirt was just right, and the intricate nebula print along the stockings stood out sharply under the lights—easily my favorite shot from the set.

Wearing this outfit naturally restricted large movements; while the gown is striking, avoiding stepping on the layered hem required constant vigilance, and the weighty headdress left my neck feeling somewhat stiff over hours of posing. Yet standing under the venue lights and watching how the previews came together made every bit of effort worth it. CICF Expo offers immense hall space, where the charcoal grey flooring and architectural backdrop added a sleek sci-fi edge that complemented Denia's world effortlessly.

I met so many wonderful peers dedicated to cosplaying throughout the convention day; everyone supported each other in the rest areas, fixing stray accessories and exchanging prop-crafting wisdom—a camaraderie that always fills me with joy. From early morning styling to the final click in the afternoon, it was physically exhausting yet deeply fulfilling. Stripping off the makeup and changing back into streetwear brought a wave of sweet relief, ready to hunt down some delicious food as a well-earned treat.
