Preparing for this Galbrena cosplay photoshoot took quite a while during the pre-production phase. The character's overall aesthetic carries a cool, resolute combat readiness, so from garment materials to prop details, I did my best to stay faithful to the setting of this Role-playing game character.
First, regarding the costume: the look is primarily composed of black and electric blue. The cropped black leather jacket is the centerpiece; to capture that stiff yet structured leather sheen on camera, it was carefully ironed and prepped prior to shooting. The feather accents and gold zipper hardware on the jacket added rich dimension. Layered underneath was a snug blue bandeau and black shorts, which required maintaining crisp waistline contours, so I paid close attention to diet and conditioning leading up to the shoot. The black thigh straps and the black high-heeled ankle boots spliced with vivid blue served as the finishing touch. To ensure the boots held their sharp, defined shape, I meticulously adjusted the tension of the laces and metal buckles.
As for the wig, the silver-white base with blue highlights looks deceptively simple, but the trimming and styling took considerable effort. To give the bangs and side strands a natural, piecey texture, I sculpted the locks bit by bit with hair wax and built up volume at the crown. For makeup, I wore soft purple contact lenses paired with cool-toned eyeshadow and cleanly defined lip lines to harmonize with the character's icy demeanor.
The prop firearm was a major highlight of this shoot. The gun has noticeable heft, and with its golden filigree carvings and detailing, it felt remarkably tactile in hand. To convey the proper grip tension and dynamic motion in the photos, I practiced firearm-holding poses in front of the mirror for a long time before the shoot. Photographer Er Ge offered numerous suggestions on choreography and composition. In the first shot, the pose of lifting one leg while slightly leaning back was a serious test of core strength, requiring balance while accentuating thigh contours, the sheer texture of this Stockings cosplay, and the details of the boots. For the second mid-shot aiming the gun, we adjusted lighting angles to carve out dimensional facial contours and foster interaction between my gaze and the lens. The leather jacket kept slipping during shooting, requiring constant readjustments to the shoulder seams to ensure no awkward angles.
The temperature wasn't very warm that day, but because the leather jacket provided great coverage and I was constantly moving through poses, I didn't feel cold at all. To achieve rich saturation for the blue-and-black palette, the photographer put tremendous thought into the lighting setup, utilizing cool tones combined with side-backlighting. This cleanly illuminated the blue-and-white highlights of the wig while outlining the silhouette of the leather jacket. Regarding movement, because of the shorts' unique cut, extra care had to be taken to keep the hems flush during large dynamic motions like high leg lifts. At the same time, the contrast between sheer black stockings and bright blue boot panels required keeping leg muscles engaged to ensure the lines appeared elongated and athletic. The grip of the prop gun was somewhat slick, so I kept wiping my palms with tissues between takes to ensure it stayed rock-steady in the center of the frame. The entire team worked in seamless harmony, and this set's final presentation is the result of everyone's collective dedication. Shooting this look gave me a deeper appreciation for role-playing game characters with heavy combat sequences. From costume styling to prop handling, every nuance had to be repeatedly verified. We also tested many dynamic action snaps on site, striving to convey the character's combat essence through still frames. I hope everyone feels the effort put into the fabric textures and overall ambiance. Immense thanks to photographer Er Ge for the complete guidance, and thank you to the Wuthering Waves Creator Incentive!
