I finally received the convention photos from CPG 08, cosplaying Priestess from Arknights. Pre-production for this shoot took quite a bit of effort. The layers of this outfit are distinct: the outermost layer is a long white trench coat featuring transparent fabric patchwork along the cuffs, which reveals a unique texture under indoor lighting. The inner layer pairs a white high-neck shirt with a black necktie, while the lower half features a black pleated mini skirt with a subtle sliver of purple lining peeking out to echo the purple highlights in the hair. For the wig, I specifically had the stylist trim the bangs, paired with a custom diamond-shaped headband to faithfully align with the canonical cool, detached presence. Makeup focused heavily on the eyes, featuring purple contact lenses, elongated eyeliner, and natural nude-pink lips to cultivate an intellectual, calm aura. For accessories, I prepared black-framed glasses, a blue ID badge lanyard, a black leather backpack, and a black file folder held in hand.
On the day of the convention, we shot in an indoor hall framed by large glass curtain walls and metallic railings; the cool architectural tones of modern design harmonized seamlessly with this attire. We framed shots near escalators and glass corridors, where natural light filtering through the glass bathed the figure softly. To emphasize the character's professional demeanor, the photographer suggested leaning into actions like holding the folder, adjusting glasses, or resting against railings. The pose in the photo—resting against the rail with one leg lifted—was an improvisation on the spot: wearing black stockings and chunky lace-up heels, balancing on one leg visually elongated the leg line and broke away from rigid posture to inject lively dynamism. However, walking around the venue in heels was a true test of stamina, especially navigating escalators while maintaining posture, preventing wardrobe malfunctions with the skirt, and ensuring the backpack and belt details stayed tidy.
I truly love the sleek crispness of this outfit when paired with black pantyhose. The silhouette of the pleated skirt, combined with the black belt and silver buckle, cinches the waistline cleanly to balance overall proportions. To prevent the frames from feeling repetitive, I explored variations both with and without glasses. Wearing the thick-framed glasses while clutching the folder instantly summoned that dedicated researcher or administrator ambiance. Overall, I am very satisfied with how these convention photos turned out; the on-site architecture and lighting added immense value to the frames. Sincere thanks to the photographer for their patient direction, and to our assistants for their support throughout the hall. Let this set stand as a wonderful keepsake of this convention, and I hope everyone enjoys it.
