This time, I took Vivian's 'Iris Poolside' swimsuit from Zenless Zone Zero out for an outdoor photoshoot. The summer sun was intensely bright, but paired with the wooden boardwalk and hammock, the shots turned out beautifully. To capture Vivian's persona, I poured a lot of care into the hair and makeup. The light purple wig needed to be styled with natural, airy volume, and the positioning of the elf ears was adjusted multiple times to ensure they looked seamless from every angle. The eye makeup emphasized reddish blending, paired with contact lenses to make the gaze appear clearer and more luminous. The blue-and-white color palette of the swimsuit looked strikingly vibrant under the outdoor sunlight; with numerous details across the semi-sheer fabrics and criss-cross straps, dressing required careful attention to avoid wardrobe slips while preserving the garment's dimensional silhouette.
The shooting location was a tropical resort, where the wooden decking and white rope hammock served as fantastic compositional elements. To evoke that effortless languor of a seaside summer vacation, I explored diverse poses on the hammock—lying on my side, lounging on my stomach, or leveraging the hammock's edge for support. Balancing an elegant body line while managing the swaying of the hammock was quite a test of core strength. Especially when accentuating the leg contours, pointing my insteps and adjusting the bend of my knees made the legs look long and graceful on camera. The pink retro handheld gaming console prop was a fantastic interactive element; holding it or keeping it nearby enriched the narrative depth while staying true to the character's love for gaming.
The interplay of light and shadow that day was wonderful—sunlight filtered through tree leaves and the hammock's rope mesh, casting dappled patterns across the wooden planks. The photographer @Xiongduxiashan was amazing at capturing this natural light, utilizing foliage shadows as foregrounds or backgrounds to add rich dimensional depth. To harmonize with the lighting, I tilted my face carefully to avoid unflattering harsh shadows while keeping bright catchlights in my eyes. Shooting barefoot on the hammock also meant staying mindful of foot positioning—keeping the toes naturally relaxed rather than stiff, while using the hammock's netting as a framing device to anchor visual focus firmly onto the subject.
Just as the quote goes, summer days are genuinely joyful anywhere as long as Lord Phaethon is by my side. The fit of this new swimsuit is wonderfully snug and ideal for location shoots. Feeling the gentle breeze and changing light under this sunshine while immersing myself fully into the character was such a delightful experience. I hope this photo set conveys the breezy relaxation of a summer getaway, and I hope everyone enjoys this rendition of Vivian.
