Challenging Remielle Dan from Zenless Zone Zero this time was honestly pushed through on pure passion alone. As an overseas player, everyone knows our struggle: by the time the costume and props finally arrive via sea freight, the character banner on the domestic server has long since closed, leaving us perpetually out of the loop. While others are pulling for gacha characters, I'm cosplaying them—always half a beat behind. I admit I'm an angel, just a slightly chubby one! While fitting in front of the mirror, I was even bantering with the photographer about how demanding this white fitted corset is on body shape. Yet fullness has its own beauty; since I chose to portray the character, I wanted to capture that authentic tactile presence on camera.
To faithfully recreate the character's demeanor, immense effort went into the styling. The short Pink hair was layered and trimmed, clipped with star-shaped hairpins and a blue bow. The elongated, pointed Elf ears took quite a while to adjust, ensuring they looked completely natural from both profile and front-facing angles. The outfit details are exceptionally intricate—the silver metallic zippers and buckles on the front of the white corset required meticulous smoothing, while the purplish-pink tassels and the orange and pinkish-blue ribbons at the wrists presented a gorgeous color gradient under the soft studio lighting. Detached lantern sleeves and the white wing accents on the back added an extra touch of airy lightness to the entire silhouette.
The studio was staged against a solid backdrop featuring light blue water ripples. For the first set of poses, I stood lifting one leg, primarily to showcase the dynamic flutter of the skirt and the texture of the over-the-knee White stockings. The silver glitter high heels sparkled under the lights; although standing in them for long periods was exhausting, the resulting shots were undoubtedly worth it. The second seated pose is my personal favorite: sitting with legs crossed on a white round podium allowed both the corset's details and the lines of the White stockings and legs to be displayed. I rested my chin in one hand and winked at the lens, which the photographer noted was brimming with playful charm. The third pose had both hands raised above my head—a posture demanding great bodily coordination, which I had to hold for a prolonged period to fully showcase the streamlined cut of the attire and the tension of the wings. The metallic embellishments easily threw off harsh reflections under bright lights, but thankfully the photographer was seasoned and skillfully controlled the contrast of light and shadow.
As a cosplayer who constantly shoots characters while living overseas, preparing costumes, wigs, and props always involves communicating across time zones and enduring grueling logistics waits—pretending it's not exhausting would be a lie. Yet every time I see the finished photos and watch the mental image materialize into reality, that immense fulfillment dissolves every ounce of fatigue. Cosplay has never been an easy feat: from picking fabrics and tailoring costumes to styling wigs and refining makeup, every single step demands boundless patience. This photo set serves as a heartfelt milestone for my recent endeavors.
