The moment I put on this uniform, wore these glasses, and stood in front of the office desk, I almost thought I was genuinely about to start reviewing and approving documents. But anyone familiar with me knows that the cubicle is merely my disguise; the real battlefield lies deep within New Eridu. For today's Tsukishiro Yanagi cosplay styling, from the black bowtie on the white shirt to the tactical leather belt at the waist and those platform boots, I strove to faithfully restore every detail of her decisively swift yet subtly lazy aura in this Office style outfit. In particular, that cyan-blue jacket casually draped over the shoulders fits the Security Section profile perfectly without looking too rigid.
During shooting, the photographer asked me to convey a sense of "reluctantly clocking in for duty." I instantly related to the bitterness of compensatory overtime—that contrast of one's mind fighting Ethereals in the Hollow while the body is trapped sitting in an office chair was just too painfully real. While in reality there are no Ethereals to slay or Hollow adventures to undertake, portraying this character before the lens serves as a wonderful mental escape.
This full gear actually carries quite some weight when worn, especially the corset girdle and dangling charms. Yet to achieve the desired effect, I tested various poses—standing, leaning, and perching on the desk edge. My personal favorite remains the shot leaning against the desk holding a document folder, looking as if I'm about to deploy on an urgent mission the very next second. Of course, in reality, I might just be sorting through mountains of spreadsheets.
Many people ask what I enjoy most about shooting cosplay sets: I think it is this freedom of instantly switching identities. Without actually having to work the corporate grind, I can blend the crisp sharpness of a corporate elite with the agile coolness of a combat operative for Anime-style photography. While retouching, looking at myself in the photos even gave me the illusion of "I didn't realize I could look this cool." Although shift work and overtime are a massive headache, wearing the costume of a beloved character and reclaiming confidence and joy before the camera is true sweetness amidst the daily grind. I hope everyone seeing this photo set can also find their own passion and solace amidst busy work in this Cosplay sharing.
