[Angels of Delusion Nangong Yu Cosplay] Rebellious Charm Under the Neon Lights of Zenless Zone Zero

Bringing the rebellious yet playful visual contrast of Zenless Zone Zero's Angels of Delusion Nangong Yu cosplay into the lens. Completing this outfit was no easy process; from tweaking wig strands to positioning over a dozen bows, every step required meticulous care. Especially those pink and cyan bow ornaments on her head and the black-to-purple gradient at the wig tips—styling took a considerable amount of time to capture her signature rebellious yet playful visual contrast.

The costume features a wealth of details, such as the black cat-head accessory with a cyan eye at the collar and the oversized cyan bowknot, serving as eye-catching accents against the black-white-pink base palette. To match her aura, I specifically chose a music rehearsal room packed with neon lighting effects as our location; blue key lights paired with purple ambient lighting beautifully complemented the techwear and cyber-aesthetic design elements of her outfit.

Handling the prop, which weighed several pounds, posed a minor challenge during this shoot. Whether it was the giant black cat-head piece with yellow star patterns or the metallic heavy hammer with an eyeball design at the base of its handle, pulling off dynamic, high-tension poses required finding a precise balance point between hands and waist. To capture that contrast of appearing relaxed and effortless while hiding explosive power, we spent a lot of time adjusting camera angles and testing body balance on set.

For action design, I tried my best to recreate her dual nature of daemon meets idol. Lowering my center of gravity on rubber rings on the floor or using the long-handled prop as a pivot point allowed me to fully showcase the texture of the black leather boots and overall muscle control. The studio floor featured many rock-and-roll detailed elements like vinyl records and light strips; varying lens angles added rich spatial depth and layering to the overall composition. Beyond standard studio shots, I also loved the Polaroid-style collage layout, where perfume bottle, cherry, and small diamond sticker elements perfectly matched her dreamy, psychedelic maidenly vibe. From individual frames to the full studio log, we strived from multiple dimensions to recreate her unique charm.

Shooting continued late into the night. Though physically exhausted, seeing the bold, sharp, yet quirky visual style in the final shots made everything feel completely worthwhile. This styling provided a wonderful surprise in color matching—the core black-and-white base didn't dull the pink vibrancy, but instead gained three-dimensional depth from high-saturation accents. The corset cut and ruffled skirt hem preserved a maidenly feel, while black plush arm sleeves and knee-high boots added a cool edge.

Usually, I tend to show a sweeter side in front of the camera, but this Angels of Delusion setting gave me more freedom to release confidence and boldness. Holding the prop in a stance ready to dash forward allowed me to fully immerse myself in the character during the shoot. Behind every piece of cosplay work is a fresh attempt—recreating the virtual world in our hearts through refined props and dedicated hair and makeup is where the true appeal of Cosplay photography lies. For me, this session was not just a record of image capturing, but a brief journey into an imaginative adventure. I hope this camera presentation and neon color grading let everyone feel this intense color collision. Whether multi-angle full-body framing or cool-toned close-up shots, all reflect our understanding of her unique radiance.
