Pairing a mint green wig with blunt bangs with this blue-and-white ruffled dress, the overall visual tone was already decided before the shoot. This session features Kochiya Sanae Cosplay from Touhou Project; although it leans toward a fan-made design, it still preserves the character's core elements, such as the iconic mint green hair color and blue head accessories.

The fabric selection for this costume was quite interesting: the upper body utilizes textured white fabric layered with intricate ruffles, creating depth while keeping the look lightweight. The blue-and-white pattern on the skirt is made of a jacquard-like fabric with subtle embossed textures, which, along with the golden piping at the edges, reflects outdoor natural light in a unique way. Tassels and small blue-and-white beads accent the neckline and cuffs, swaying gently when walking or waving the sleeves, adding dynamic liveliness to the static look.

For makeup, I opted for a soft, natural "no-makeup" makeup look, considering that heavy makeup would feel unapproachable under intense outdoor lighting. The same principle applied to the mint green wig—the shade couldn't be overly fluorescent, or it would look unnatural. I deliberately found a wig with airy straight bangs, incorporating personal trimming habits so the curves around the cheeks flattered my face shape better. For eye makeup, low-saturation tones were used to add subtle depth, giving my gaze a gentler touch.

The weather on shoot day was wonderful; sunlight filtered through white blossoms to form beautiful natural light flares. We chose a patch of blooming white flowers as the backdrop, which harmonized seamlessly with the blue-and-white costume to evoke a serene, dreamy aesthetic in this Outdoor portrait. The photographer used 24-70mm and 85mm prime lenses, using a wide aperture to blur the background leaves and petals into gorgeous bokeh. The hazy, airy atmosphere in the center was created by placing blossoms close to the lens, serving as a natural foreground element to enhance depth.

The shooting process was actually much more demanding than it appears. While the final photos look ethereal and effortless, it was quite windy that day. When I waved the long staff prop in the air, the sleeves and tassels were constantly blown around, requiring numerous retakes to capture the exact moment the prop and fabrics unfurled naturally. For the seated poses, finding the right forward-leaning angle meant squeezing through the bushes with the photographer for quite a while, dodging thorny branches while carefully avoiding damaging the lovely flowers.

This photo set focuses heavily on the interaction between the character and the environment. I particularly like the shot holding the staff while looking straight into the lens; the light falls right across my face, capturing an inquisitive gaze that adds personal sprightliness to the shrine maiden beyond mere "gentleness." Another snapshot waving the staff upward is also intriguing—the moment the wide sleeves billow in the wind, the whole frame bursts with dynamic energy.

The photographer also provided excellent compositional advice, such as using side lighting to emphasize headpiece details or centering the blue-and-white skirt as the visual anchor. Post-processing avoided heavy alteration, mainly balancing warm and cool tones to keep the mint green and blue hues clean and crisp. Delivering such a refreshing Outdoor portrait aesthetic requires strict costume neatness and precise makeup saturation, which could otherwise look cheap; fortunately, the styling, White stockings, and props maintained a high degree of fidelity throughout.

In conclusion, that wraps up this photoshoot log set against white blossoms. The resulting aesthetic owes much to that day's splendid natural lighting and our seamless teamwork. Having sorted through these photos, I look forward to showcasing another facet of this cosplay in different natural settings with varying lighting conditions next time.
