The main concept for this Shimoe Koharu cosplay shoot was high-key lighting in a white studio paired with a pink background, designed to highlight the character's color contrast. The overall preparation started from costume styling, with a strong focus on presenting details.

Starting with the wig, the pink-gold gradient twin tails and heavy blunt bangs are the character's signature features. To maintain the styling's three-dimensional feel, I added dark blue feather hair accessories and small pink bows on both sides of the wig, echoing the color of the dark blue flower choker around my neck. In terms of makeup, the pink blending around the eyes paired with red contact lenses aims to create a contrasting temperament with a sense of innocence. The blush on the cheeks was also applied rather heavily to capture a healthy complexion under strong light.

The costume was where I poured a lot of thought this time. This white off-the-shoulder dress adopts a deep V cutout design on the chest, with silver reflective piping edges and a pink rose knot embellished on the chest. The cuffs are detachable puff sleeves, paired with white lace wrist ornaments and a large pink bow. The lower body is matched with white shorts and lace-trim long stockings. Behind the skirt hem are relatively long light tulle and dark blue wing-like decorations, which can capture a great dynamic feel when walking. The hands feature red long manicures with glitter; these details are clearly visible under close-up shots.

For props, a fan doujinshi with a gray cover was prepared during the shoot. The book cover is printed with silhouettes of two character profiles facing each other and age-rating notice signs. When holding it for photos, the photographer suggested interacting with the book and the lens—such as raising the book to cover half the face, revealing only the eyes and bangs; holding the book with one hand while making a heart shape next to the cheek with the other; or looking down in a pretend-reading pose. Capturing the gaze is very important, requiring a contradictory vibe of shyness mixed with a direct look into the lens. A combination of white roses and lace tulle skirts was also shot, presenting another soft feeling.

Besides half-body and sitting poses, we also tried kneeling shoots. Great care was needed when the white lace long stockings made contact with the ground. To ensure the aesthetics of the frame, the photographer kept adjusting camera angles to find angles that perfectly showcase leg lines while remaining natural. For example, in the side-lying look-back shot, the body's center of gravity needed to be well controlled to balance the back lines and the drape of the skirt hem. When placing hands on hips or kneeling, one should also pay attention to relaxing the shoulders without appearing stiff.

The biggest feature of white studio photography is clean light without distracting clutter interfering with the sightline. The pink-white gradient background makes the frame look softer. Although one set of pictures added some hand-drawn style small stickers in post-production to increase playfulness, I personally still prefer composition under solid color backgrounds, which better highlights the character's texture and garment workmanship. The entire shooting process went very smoothly, and the communication with the photographer was full of tacit understanding; every detail of gaze and action was continuously adjusted to achieve the most satisfying effect. Although this creation consumed quite a bit of energy, the final photo results completely met expectations, making it a very fulfilling photography experience.
