Today, this Rossi cosplay outfit from Arknights: Endfield (Arknights) was finally completely sorted out. Taking advantage of the fine weather, I hurried outdoors to an industrial location with metal railing grilles for a Game cosplay shoot. I usually shoot indoors, but this time I deliberately chose a cold, gritty industrial backdrop to create a sharp contrast with the vibrant red-and-white color palette. The wig is a brilliant blonde, styled with blunt bangs and low twin ponytails on both sides; I also trimmed the sideburns slightly to flatter the face shape. The massive animal ears atop my head are surprisingly heavy; to keep them standing upright without drooping, I added several hidden clips and internal supports inside the hood, ensuring they stayed put no matter how I moved during the shoot.
The tailored red hooded coat holds a crisp silhouette, featuring clean white borders and deep geometric line accents; the structured fabric gives it impressive three-dimensional presence when worn. Beneath it lies a white inner garment. The trickiest part was actually adjusting the black nylon harness straps and buckles across my body—getting the tension right took ages each time. If too loose, they lost that sharp, utilitarian edge; if too tight, breathing became uncomfortable while posing. Eventually, I dialed them in to a sweet spot. The black choker around the neck is one of my favorite details, which, combined with the black fingerless gloves, instantly brings out that cool, subtly enigmatic vibe for this cosplay.
I dedicated a lot of thought to the eye makeup, wearing light green contact lenses. To make my gaze appear sharper and more spirited, I deliberately accentuated the lower lashes and eyeliner, while keeping the base makeup luminous and translucent—since bold red clothing easily casts strange tints on the skin if not balanced properly. While posing, I gently rested a hand against my chin; this gesture nicely showcased the gloves and choker while infusing the shot with deeper narrative nuance. Today's post is actually me wanting to vent a little—did you see the caption? No calling me ( )( )! Anyone calling me "Mommy," go line up and get zapped by electricity! Seriously, whenever I wear an outfit for a character with such an imposing presence, I can't resist glaring fiercely at the camera; it just feels so immersive.
Going on outdoor location shoots is truly a test of physical endurance: just balancing these fluffy animal ears and the substantial hood while standing outside makes you sweat before long. But seeing the raw output on camera makes all the trouble completely worthwhile. This outfit is packed with subtle details—from the garment tags to the strap weave textures, I strove to faithfully recreate every aspect. Even though I didn't bring any oversized weapon props today, purely relying on the fabric textures and makeup felt sufficient to convey Rossi's idiosyncratic charisma. I look forward to exploring different locations next time or experimenting with fresh lighting setups.
