[Arknights Ch'en & Hoshiguma cosplay] Slacking Off at the Park with Officer Hoshiguma

This Arknights Ch'en cosplay and Hoshiguma cosplay casual park shoot was a complete exercise in slacking off on duty. Embracing an early taste of retirement life, the shooting pace was set to be totally casual, with relaxation as the core vibe. For makeup, to capture Madam Ch'en's cool and capable sharpness, the signature red eyes paired with blue hair were key—especially the side ponytail and horns, which took a long time to sand and finish to achieve a translucent texture. For Hoshiguma, green hair was paired with golden eyes, and the curvature and weight of her single horn were carefully adjusted. Her black high-collar leather jacket had substantial weight; though a bit stuffy to wear, its sheen under the sunlight faithfully recreated the character's steady, imposing presence. Styling the wigs was the biggest undertaking: Ch'en's long bangs went through multiple cans of styling spray and extensive adjustments to ensure they wouldn't collapse from any angle. To fit the theme of slacking off, eating desserts, and strolling in the park, we specifically brought along an instant camera for some Polaroid photography during the best afternoon light. The instant prints felt just like vintage postcards, as the film look required minimal post-processing. Between shoots, we sat on park benches enjoying desserts, truly experiencing the leisurely pace of retired life. Of course, the professional cosplay foundation remained intact—every costume and prop detail was meticulously verified, particularly the walkie-talkie on Ch'en's chest, the tie knot style, and the weathered wear on Hoshiguma's black leather gloves, all aimed at a more authentic visual presentation. Most of the shoot utilized natural light, where finding the right shadow line instantly sculpted three-dimensional figures. This kind of Park street photography really tests the models' natural ease; unlike hardcore combat battle shots, this style prioritizes immersion within the environment. Great composition and lighting not only save post-production hassle but also infuse the photos with a natural narrative feel. The resulting photos turned out great, and the moments captured through Polaroid photography became the most authentic keepsakes—this is probably what weekends are all about.
