[Unicorn Cosplay] Azur Lane: Bridal Photo Return Outside the Guangzhou CP Comic Convention

Did everyone catch my Unicorn bridal look on Day 2 of Guangzhou CP comic convention? A huge thank you to the photographer for delivering the photos on the very same day—such incredible efficiency was truly touching, and receiving these images made all yesterday's exhaustion instantly vanish.

Let's talk about the styling first. To recreate Unicorn's gentle, dreamy essence, we specially selected this white Bridal cosplay dress. The costume itself boasts great texture, with delicate ruffle edges and lace splicing at the neckline and cuffs, accented by black bows and golden star pendants to add poised depth to the light-toned palette. The wig featured long, light purple curly hair with straight bangs; to match the bridal vibe, we styled braids and side buns accented with black ribbons and hair ornaments, keeping the overall silhouette light and airy. Paired with a White thigh-highs outfit, the complete look stayed soft and pure.

The weather was quite cooperative on the shoot day—bright, yet without harsh, blinding glare. We chose an outdoor area with greenery and modern glass curtain walls as our backdrop. While the indoor halls of Guangzhou CP comic convention were packed with crowds, this outdoor space was surprisingly open and clear, allowing us to capture a fresh, crisp on-location feel.

However, the biggest challenge—and my primary initial concern—was the strong wind outside on Day 2. The hair and ribbons fluttered wildly; especially when holding up the bouquet ready to shoot, the hair originally secured at the back was blown directly across my face, which felt a bit overwhelming at the moment. But the photographer excelled at capturing dynamic snapshots, cleverly leveraging the motion of the wind. In several finished shots, the floating purple ribbons and billowing skirt hem actually injected abundant dynamism and authenticity into the frame—a delightful surprise.

For props, beyond the peach rose bouquet with purple satin ribbons, we brought along a white plush unicorn doll. Holding the plushie during still-life interactions made the overall aura much softer and more approachable. For poses, I explored standing while holding flowers, turning sideways to look up at the blossoms, and sitting on a bench hugging the unicorn plushie from various angles. Although the strong wind caused the wig and skirt to fly around repeatedly, requiring constant adjustments, the results exceeded all expectations. The outdoor lighting brought natural coolness and soft diffusion, which, paired with the white-and-purple bridal gown, elevated the atmosphere to the fullest.

At a major offline event like a comic convention, getting a set of clean, softly lit outdoor photos like this is truly rare. From the fabric weave of the gown to the texture of the wig and the wind-swept strands, everything was beautifully presented. For me, cosplaying a beloved Azur Lane character and meeting a reliable photographer with an eye for dynamic candid moments is the greatest joy of attending conventions. Though the shoot outside Guangzhou CP was tiring, freezing such a wonderful moment made every bit of effort worthwhile.
