[Unicorn Cosplay] The Medical Officer's Perspective from Azur Lane

This time, I shot a medical-themed visual set based on Unicorn from Azur Lane. The clean and bright hospital room background paired with blue and white medical curtains really fully brought out the clinic atmosphere. The hardest part of playing this character is actually grasping the overall aura. Unicorn inherently gives off a very gentle and slightly dreamy vibe, so for the makeup, I specially chose a warm-toned base paired with purple-toned eyeshadow to make my gaze look softer and clearer.

The light purple long curly wig fit quite well, and the flow of the hair strands was slightly adjusted to increase the fluffiness at the top of the head to frame the face. The elf ears and pure white bow hair accessory are the visual center of the face; once the correct positioning was found, the proportions of the entire head looked very coordinated. For the outfit, a high-neck, sleeveless white dress was chosen, which has a relatively smooth texture, and paired with a thin black waist belt, it beautifully outlined the waistline without looking too rigid. The outer brown chunky knit cardigan is the finishing touch; the styling of draping it halfway over the shoulders not only breaks the monochromatic monotony of the white dress but also adds a sense of daily relaxation like casually throwing on a coat after a busy day in the ward.

The opaque white tights fully blend into the overall pure white tone, making the large area of empty space on the limbs look natural. In terms of prop preparation, I specially managed to borrow this kind of real medical IV stand. The red simulated blood bag connected to the thin tubing, including the syringes placed on the bed, kept the frame away from a cheap plastic feel. Especially during the shoot, letting the IV bag slightly enter the frame, paired with the sanitized white bedsheets and the blue curtain in the background, formed a blue, white, and red color contrast. This clean, cool-toned high-exposure lighting gave the entire set a great atmosphere.

Aside from that, the medical chart was also a very important interactive prop. Holding the clipboard in hand presented that focused and well-behaved look, which beautifully reflected a facet of Unicorn's personality in her lore. This anime cosplay session wasn't just about putting on the medical costume; it considered more about how to recreate that character's sense of reality through body language, prop placement, and scene decoration. Although the medical lighting and props on site were quite a test for the coordination of poses, with the help of the photographer, we still captured many natural and cute moments. I am very satisfied with the overall completion.
