[Texas cosplay] Arknights: Holding in My Tummy with All My Might — A Stellar Showcase

This attempt mainly centered around the concept of "Quadrant Deconstruction." Rather than simple recreation, I wanted to convey the blend of coolness and sleek capability in Texas cosplay. Preparing for this shoot was indeed quite demanding, especially when putting on this highly reflective patent leather coat and trousers, which had a strong restrictive feel. Because the material is completely non-breathable, the temperature inside got extremely high, and paired with the form-fitting crop top, it placed exceptionally high demands on abdominal lines. To present the best possible visual effect in the photos, I had to continuously hold my breath during the shoot, trying my best to suck in my tummy while keeping my facial expression natural and body movements coordinated.

Regarding makeup and styling, the wig featured a dark gray base with long red highlights, complemented by fluffy Animal ears and a tail. For overall 2D-inspired texture, I specifically chose ice-blue contact lenses, which paired with red eyeshadow at the corners of the eyes to heighten the aloof, alluring aura. Patent leather is a material that severely tests lighting; to reproduce its glossy sheen and texture indoors, we experimented with multiple fill-light angles, as excessive reflections easily cause overexposure. The boots feature a chunky-soled lace-up design, matching the silver-white reflective stripes and metallic D-rings on the pants to infuse the entire look with a powerful edge.

During the shoot, we explored several different angles, aiming to combine the cut of the garment to showcase limb lines. For close-up shots, I emptied my gaze as much as possible, using a slight chin-lift to craft the character's sense of detachment; for half-body and full-body compositions, extending my arms and legs helped elongate visual proportions. To ensure smoother lines in the photos, I constantly adjusted my leg positioning during shooting to keep the coat sleeves and pant legs in their optimal drape. Additionally, many buttons and zippers on the costume were fine-tuned on the fly to achieve visual harmony.

The shooting process was honestly quite challenging because I had to balance a tensed breathing rhythm with complex poses simultaneously, often needing a breather after just a few sets. Yet, seeing that fierce and mesmerizing allure in the final results made all the hard work completely worthwhile. I hope this deconstruction of costume details, control over light and shadow, and interpretation of character essence in this Arknights Texas cosplay can bring everyone a fresh visual experience.
