Recreating Hyacinthia from Honkai: Star Rail on a merry-go-round woven with sunlight and dreams. The long pink hair and fluffy white earmuffs are the core symbols of the character. This wig displays an exceptionally soft texture under the sun, with the volume and curls of the hair strands being just right. In pursuit of accuracy, the fluffy white mini hat on top of the head was not only firmly secured but its proportion relative to the hair on both sides was also adjusted multiple times. The red-and-white patterned skirt paired with white stockings and black leather shoes gives a high overall color saturation, looking exceptionally exquisite under the warm light. The cross bowtie and the light blue bow embellishment on the chest enrich the overall visual layers. The golden tassels and white wave patterns on the skirt hem would look even better if they could flutter slightly in the breeze, but the steady sitting posture in this photo presents another kind of serene beauty.

Shooting in a natural backdrop like a merry-go-round, the biggest challenge lies in how to interact with the venue. The pairing of golden pillars and white horses is incredibly full of childlike innocence. Choosing a high-angle overhead shot during the shoot highlights the fluffy skirt lines beautifully, while a frontal wide-angle composition can fully display the character's full-body design. To maintain Hyacinthia's agile and lightweight feel, various body languages were attempted during the shoot, such as reaching out to hold the golden pillar, a side-turned backward glance, or sitting relaxed with one leg slightly lifted like this, allowing the entire frame to not only display the character herself but also blend into the unique joyful atmosphere of the amusement park. Since the merry-go-round rotates, the photographer needed to accurately capture the exact moments when the natural light filters down perfectly, while taking care to avoid passersby and other cluttered elements in the background. The prime lens used during the shoot not only isolated the person from the complex background but also kept the brightly colored costume at an accurate tone in terms of white balance.

It is worth mentioning that the lighting for this set of photos was highly ideal. The natural light showered over the character, making even the shadows of the hair strands look very three-dimensional. This bright and color-rich scene fits the character's inherent energetic and sunny traits perfectly. The exquisite gold thread embroidery and tailoring details on the costume beautifully retained their original textures under the lens, without losing details due to over-intense light. As a cosplayer who frequently participates in outdoor shoots, the control of light and shadow and the complete presentation of costumes, makeup, and props are always crucial elements to bring a piece of work to life during our cosplay photography sessions.

Along the path of doing cosplay, every amusement park location shoot can capture different emotions and moments. The character Hyacinthia possesses not only an exquisite and cute appearance but also a unique sense of playfulness. This outdoor shooting experience greatly enriched the character's realism. Through this set of works, I want to convey a relaxed and pleasant perspective, allowing anyone who sees the photos to also feel the unique atmosphere under that bright sunshine of the day. The entire shooting process was full of the joy of exploration—such as adjusting my sitting posture to match the speed of the merry-go-round and trying to find the most natural expression—and these efforts were ultimately perfectly frozen in the final photos.
