[Frieren cosplay] Frieren: Beyond Journey's End forest-style photoshoot reading time

Preparing this set of Frieren photos took quite a long time. From location selection to the details of costumes, makeup, and props, a lot of thought was put into it. Because Frieren's temperament as a character is very special—she isn't the expressive, outgoing type of emotion, but rather more bland and lazy, yet carrying a sense of weight accumulated through the years—so during the shoot, I didn't make too many exaggerated expressions, relying more on my gaze and posture to convey it.

In terms of clothing, this white lightweight gauze dress looks ethereal, but in actual styling, it requires many layers. The blue flowers and golden lines on the skirt are the soul; the outer gauze texture is very light, creating a wonderful floating feeling when walking. To fit the elf setting, pointed ear props and silver-white long hair are indispensable. I pre-treated the wig to make it smooth, trying to avoid that rigid plastic feel, so it looks more natural when blowing in the wind. The blue flower garland and golden tassel earrings on the head are the finishing touches; hairpins were hidden when fixing the garland to avoid ruining the overall styling as much as possible. The golden arm rings and straps on the arms and legs, as well as the golden wedge sandals on the feet, are also designed to echo the overall color scheme.

The scene was chosen in this forest-style wooden cabin full of greenery, featuring old wooden tables, rattan chairs, a retro desk lamp, and a green-and-white checkered tablecloth. Sunlight streamed in through the wooden windows, cooperating with the surrounding abundance of ferns and flowers, perfectly fitting the fantasy yet peaceful atmosphere in the original work. The book in my hand served as an important medium as a prop; opening the book made it feel as if I were truly situated in that magical world.

During the shoot, I deliberately designed a few poses. For the one sitting at the wooden table reading a book, the light happened to hit my face and legs, creating a serene feeling, and the details of the golden straps and shoes on my legs were also clearly displayed—I really like this angle. Standing and holding onto the rattan chair was meant to express a bit of wind-blown feeling, with the skirt hem blown up by the wind, matching a glancing-back look to show a bit of the elf's agility. The back-view shot tried to use a symmetrical composition, utilizing the lines of the rattan chair and the greenery outside the window to show a quiet sense of solitude.

Although the whole shooting process was a bit tiring, standing on the wooden floor in high-heeled sandals for a long time, seeing the intertwined light and shadow effect in the final photos made me feel that everything was worth it. In terms of emotional immersion, I kept listening to related fantasy-style light music, letting myself calm down, putting aside trivial matters in reality, and completely immersing myself in a slow-paced state. Overall, this cosplay attempt gave me new insights into scene integration and static emotional expression, and I also hope everyone can feel this tranquility of the forest mage.
