[Cartethyia Cosplay] Outdoor Sword-Wielding Photography of Wuthering Waves Elf Knight

This shoot selected an outdoor environment with natural vegetation and classical stone pillars to better match the temperament of the elf knight.
Visually, the most effort went into coordinating the wig and the elf ears. The gold-white wig reached down to the waist, and the luster of the hair strands under the light needed to form a unified warm and cool tone with the forehead ornament and the blue contact lenses. The pointed ears were fixed with glue and had their edges hidden by the wig, so care had to be taken with the angles during shooting.
The splicing relationships of the main costume are quite complex. The upper body uses a black base, with white gauze and blue ties on the shoulders and arms. The lower skirt features a gradient from translucent white to highly saturated blue, with an outer layer of dark floral patterns of plant motifs. The layered feel of the skirt reveals itself when moving, which demands specific lighting and positioning. The brown leather armor on the arms and the silver-white bracelets are differentiated in prop texture, enriching the layers of the image.
The long sword held in hand is an important element of visual guidance. The guard of this prop sword is cross-shaped, and the blade features a brushed metal finish, with the surface gloss restored restrictively to avoid excessive reflection under natural light. When actually swinging the sword and posing, the center of gravity needs to be controlled in the forearm to maintain the stability and tension of the blade's direction. The low-angle shot enhances the visual length of the sword, cooperating with the upward-spreading ferns behind to give the frame a sense of extension in the vertical direction.
The scene setup mainly utilizes green ferns, broad leaves, and white stone pillars to construct the framework. The black railings and stone steps provide dark blocks, and this light-dark boundary exactly serves to set off the character's silhouette. For the shoot, relatively hard natural scattered light was chosen, softening the face while leaving distinct highlights on the blade and hair strands, creating a texture contrast between the metallic weapon and the soft fabric.
During the shooting process, the tilt angle of the body's center of gravity needed to be adjusted repeatedly. The camera was placed close to the ground shooting upwards, while utilizing foreground leaves to create depth, preventing the image from looking flat. The posture of the elf horns and the direction of the gaze also needed to be controlled through a storyboard. Facing forward with slightly parted lips combined with focused eyes avoided overly forced or formulaic expressions.
This entire outfit required advanced planning from makeup and styling to scene adaptation. The stitching of the clothing, the fixing of accessories, and the direction of the wig when the wind blows will all affect the success rate of the photos. Although the entire process consumed a lot of time, the final state presented in the images matched the expected results quite well.
Besides basic character recreation, the sense of atmosphere was also a focus of this shoot. Utilizing plants and stones to construct a ruin-like environment, combined with the outfit's inherent cool temperament, integrated the character and the scene. Of course, wigs for this type of styling are easily affected by wind and humidity outdoors, so many remedial measures were taken to prevent it from flying around during the shoot, and the polishing level of the sword also needed to match the light intensity so it wouldn't be too dazzling.
Overall, this shoot tailored to the character's traits featured specific arrangements in clothing details, weapon texture, and environmental light capture. From choosing the location to adjusting the poses, every step tried to fit the character's settings and style. Delivering the character's sense of power and elegance through these relatively fixed visual elements was the primary goal of this shoot. The repeated refinement during the preparation process helped with the final composition and color of the photos.
