Wearing this outfit for a mirror selfie, I unexpectedly found that leaning the staff against the side of the chair gives a real vibe of a long journey. The wig is long, straight silver-white hair, which I specially styled to be extra smooth this time, and when combined with the elf ears, the overall recognizability immediately went up. The striped design and gold trim of the clothes have a very clear texture in some close-up shots, and pairing it with black tights makes the entire look much neater. The ruby part of the staff reflects some points of light under the indoor lighting; although it's just a still prop, holding it makes me subconsciously think of that stop-and-go pace of the journey in the original work. During the shoot, I tried a few different poses—when standing, I focused on expressing a sense of lightness, while in the sitting one, I slightly adjusted the drape of the skirt hem, wanting to create a scene of taking a short rest during a journey. The shooting environment was just my own bedroom, with white walls and light-colored curtains providing a clean background that perfectly highlights the character and costume. For the lighting, I mainly used a ring fill light from the front to make the skin tone and hair color look softer and more natural, keeping the shadows quite shallow. Honestly, every time I do a cosplay, the most time-consuming part is often not changing clothes, but styling the wig and adjusting the gear. However, seeing those accurate details in the final photos makes it feel completely worth it. This shooting experience as an elf mage feels like adding a touch of fantasy to daily life.
