[Furina cosplay] Genshin Impact Hydro Archon's Lily of the Valley Waltz: Romantic interweaving of deep sea and stage

Bringing together today's Furina Lily of the Valley Waltz look took about half a month from preparation to the final photos. Striving to faithfully recreate a visual presentation that merges the Hydro Archon's nobility with theatrical drama, ample research and effort went into wardrobe selection and prop crafting during pre-production.

First, let's discuss the makeup and wardrobe details everyone is curious about. The upper portion of the dress features a bandeau-style corset tailored from deep navy velvet, adorned with golden vines across the chest and floral bell charms dangling from the waist, all applied by hand piece by piece. While putting it on was quite intricate, the texture and reflective luster on camera were absolutely stunning. The skirt is pieced together with multiple tiers of pale blue tulle, yielding natural volume and bounce with every step. The wig features a gradient flowing from light blue to white, with her signature curled ahoge on the crown and elongated locks styled and fixed securely. Paired with an openwork golden crown and blue butterfly hair accessories, the overall opulence was dialed up to the max. For makeup, to align with the character's design, bright blue colored contacts were paired with reddish-pink eyeshadow, lush eyelashes, and defined aegyo sal; though relatively dramatic, under the cool-toned studio lights, the look appeared exceptionally crisp and translucent on camera.

Ample thought also went into the set dressing on the day of the shoot. The background incorporated an oversized white seashell, glowing suspended jellyfish props, blue daisies, and Roman columns, with the floor blanketed in a plush white rug. Cool blue diffused lighting formed the ambient base, aiming to evoke an ethereal dreamscape reminiscent of an undersea or frozen realm. To complement the styling, I also prepared a silver scepter adorned with golden trimmings and a glass goblet filled with red liquid as props.

For pose design, because Furina possesses a strong performative theatricality, I did my best to convey an elegant yet subtly mysterious demeanor before the lens. In the seated pose, I deliberately crossed my legs and adjusted the blue ankle ribbons of the high heels to elongate the leg lines. In the shot holding the wine glass, focus shifted to my gaze and hand placement, attempting to channel a dreamy yet haughty, tsundere state. Deep velvet and light blue tulle react differently under studio lights; dialing in the lighting angles to capture the distinct sheen of both fabrics required several rounds of testing.

In truth, cosplaying an outfit with such heavy craftsmanship is a real test of stamina. Wearing high heels and a complex headdress for hours left my neck and ankles quite sore, but seeing the depth of light and shadow alongside every wardrobe detail faithfully captured in the final frames made every moment worthwhile. This Lily of the Valley Waltz design preserves canonical elegance while injecting romantic theatricality, marking a shoot that I personally cherish deeply.
