[Seele cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd's Quiet Night: Cool Aloofness and Languor from an Overhead Angle

During the shoot for this Honkai Impact 3rd Seele cosplay, the biggest challenge to overcome was the physical stamina and facial expression control required by the lying-down overhead angle. This perspective creates a truly unique visual ambiance, making it the top angle I wanted to explore for this session.

Let's first delve into the costume details. The main body of the top is a black bodysuit adorned with white vine-like line patterns. The neckline is framed by generous white ruffled fabric, adding depth and dimension. The silver metallic chains and inverted triangle pendant across the chest serve as the outfit's highlights; they catch the light with great reflections, and their substantial physical weight during shooting created a beautiful drape that made the whole silhouette look even more refined.

The arms are styled with red oversleeves and gloves—red stands out vividly against the black-and-white base, with a subtle velvety texture that feels tactile and rich in hand. The bottom features classic White stockings accented with pale blue ribbon patterns. Against the black bodysuit, the White stockings look exceptionally bright and porcelain. I intentionally curled my legs during the shoot, which not only tightened the composition but also beautifully accentuated the contours of the White stockings. The blue-and-white shoes completed the overall look.

Makeup and hair also received meticulous attention. I wore blue contact lenses to complement the deep purple wig and bangs. For eye makeup, reddish eyeshadow and blush were blended in to ensure a cool, focused gaze even while lying down. Since lying on one's back easily displaces a wig, the hair was pinned down multiple times before shooting to avoid any wardrobe mishaps.

During actual shooting, lying on the floor lined with dark grey cloth, I could feel the cold hardness of the ceramic tiles against my back. To make the leg lines look natural, my core and thighs had to continuously exert supporting force, all while keeping facial expressions relaxed—a real test of physical coordination. I had the photographer take multiple bursts to pick the shot with the most natural gaze. The silver chain occasionally obstructed the view, so I adjusted its position to drape naturally across the chest, which actually added extra layers.

In terms of composition, this extreme overhead perspective in Anime-style photography generates strong visual impact and tension compared to eye-level shots, harmonizing perfectly with the character's quiet, distant aura. The white square tiles on the floor and a few green vines beside served as ideal backdrops; paired with the classic color scheme of black, white, red, and blue on the upper body, the scene appears clean and full of visual tension. When the shutter finally froze the moment, that feeling of releasing tension while lying on the ground matched the languid posture perfectly. The high level of completion in this set was the most rewarding takeaway from this shoot.
