[Theresa Cosplay] Serenity and Depth Amidst the Grassland

Sitting in tall grass holding a bouquet of white daisies, with crimson horns exhibiting a deep, muted luster under natural light—this forms the central imagery of this Theresa Cosplay photoshoot set. The black-and-white dress stands out vividly against the green background, creating a stark contrast between the texture of the black fabric and the folds of the white tulle skirt under natural lighting. The golden circular ornament on the chest was surprisingly heavy; to keep it from slipping, it had to be secured internally with safety pins during shooting.

This series originates from the Arknights Descent of the Snowy Mountain 1101 project, where the primary makeup challenge centered around balancing the crimson contacts with the pinkish-white hair color. To capture Theresa's tranquil aura, the overall makeup was kept clean and refined, featuring only soft red eyeshadow smudging. Styling the wig took considerable time, crafting a side braid interwoven with subtle pink strands, while leaving delicate loose tendrils along the forehead to enhance dimensional layering. The base of the red horns featured black hair ties and clips, which were arduous to secure firmly; even tilting my head slightly risked dislodging them, so crouching poses required keeping my head centered and upright.

Because the green grass was tall, sitting directly on the meadow was chosen to accentuate the expansive volume of the skirt, ensuring the subject remained centrally framed while the white hem spread into a natural visual base. The photographer utilized a wide aperture with creamy bokeh to melt away the background foliage, directing visual focus straight toward the crimson eyes. The shooting environment was inevitably somewhat muddy; as the expansive skirt swept across the meadow, it unavoidably picked up burrs and dust, requiring gently patting down the hem and smoothing folds before every retake. Repeating this process dozens of times, though tedious, deepened my familiarity with the costume's fabric, allowing me to better control the falling drape of the skirt.

Natural light was predominantly used during shooting. Whenever a breeze swept through, the pinkish-white long hair fluttered gently alongside the flowing garments. Such fleeting dynamic moments are the hardest to capture, demanding numerous trials of movement and sudden pauses to achieve a flawless shot. To coordinate with the sharp presence of the crimson eyes, facial expressions were kept understated, allowing myself to radiate a deeper calm. Throughout this process, I gained a deeper appreciation for the nuanced grace inherent to Theresa.

In post-processing, the original ambient lighting and shadows were deliberately preserved. Surrounding green foliage was not darkened, as over-editing would diminish the organic realism of the environment; instead, contrast was softened with subtle saturation adjustments on skin tones and crimson highlights to render a natural, translucent aesthetic. Additionally, since the garment fabrics produced noticeable specular highlights, color grading paid special care to prevent dark blocks from clipping into pure black while maintaining clean tonal layering in white highlights.

A few reflections on this shoot: timing is crucial—the slanted sunlight at 3:00 to 4:00 PM looks most flattering on the face. Furthermore, while the crimson gaze relies on wigs and contact lenses, the visual resonance between the crimson horns and red eyes was exceptionally striking in this Outdoor shoot. Overall, this outdoor shoot experience was not only an exploration of character persona, but also a rediscovery of that distinctive ambiance when facing the lens surrounded by nature. Although the project title Arknights Descent of the Snowy Mountain 1101 naturally evokes imagery of frozen snowscapes, choosing early summer green grassland as our setting instead created a subtle, compelling balance between vibrant vitality and her serene tranquility.
