[Misaki cosplay] Blue Archive indoor photoset preview

This time shooting the photoset preview for Misaki from Blue Archive, the overall preparation took quite a long time. I've wanted to try this white dress styling with black and gold details for a while, and this time the idea was finally realized.
First, let's talk about the details of the costume and styling. Misaki's outfit looks like a simple white dress, but the physical layering is very rich. The shoulders feature an off-shoulder design. To support the black bow at the neckline and maintain the shape, invisible support was added inside the clothes. During the shoot, the black and gold tassels on both sides needed frequent adjustments to ensure they draped naturally. The black straps and golden buttons on the cuffs, as well as the side buttons on the skirt, have great texture under the lighting. The huge blue butterfly hair ornament on top of the head is the focal point of the styling. To secure it firmly, many hairpins and U-pins were used, while also ensuring that the double buns plus long ponytail wig wouldn't collapse. I combed and smoothed the wig for a long time in advance, and the long ponytail could trace a nice arc when turning around. On the makeup side, to highlight the character's facial features, I wore reddish-pink colored contacts, applied under-eye blush slightly heavier than usual, and matched it with the wig's color to make the overall anime-style photography feel stronger and closer to the character's setting status.
The shooting location was chosen as an indoor bedroom in Haikou cosplay. The soft atmosphere of the bed formed a great contrast with the sharp cut of the white dress. The photographer's control over light and shadow was very meticulous, with indoor soft light hitting the face, making the skin texture look very translucent. To capture images meeting expectations, I tried looking back from different angles in front of the lens. The low-angle perspective really tests body control; the neck needs to turn as much as possible toward the lens while the shoulders sink, so that the frame can both highlight the curve of the side body and showcase the extension of the white stockings and long legs. The material of the white stockings is prone to reflection under the lighting, so we adjusted the light positions to avoid overexposure. When kneeling on the bed, attention also had to be paid to the wrinkle direction of the skirt hem and the way leg muscles exerted force, making the curve of the skirt look natural rather than stiff. Due to maintaining the same kneeling posture for a long time, my legs were actually a bit numb, but I persisted for the sake of the picture effect.
The setting "Kiki came to play with the teacher" gave me a lot of inspiration during the shoot. In action design, I added more playful and interactive elements, such as the posture of placing hands in front of the chest, matched with the landing point of the gaze, making the frame look more storytelling. The landing point of the gaze needs to be very precise—not too scattered, nor staring dead at the lens. Throughout the process, I gained new insights into controlling body and expressions.
Currently, this photoset is still in the post-processing retouching stage, and today I am releasing one preview picture first. The indoor light and shadow atmosphere and the texture of the white stockings can already be seen to some effect in the preview. Once all the pictures are retouched, I will organize and release them.
