This Fu Xuan makeup and outfit successfully yielded great photos at the Firefly ACG Expo. From the overall color coordination of the makeup to the iterative adjustments of the costume and wig details, everything was a major highlight of this shoot. The long light-purple hair, complemented by the purplish-red diamond gem on the forehead, the two iconic pink-purple circular headpieces on top, and the golden tassel earrings on both sides, made the entire headpiece setup quite heavy. Walking around the venue required constant attention to maintain the wig's volume and keep the head ornaments straight, which was a considerable test for stamina and neck support.

The layering of the costume is very rich. The off-the-shoulder design combined with the white ruffled collar perfectly recreates the character's signature traits. The most eye-catching part on the chest is undoubtedly the massive gold-framed blue-purple oval gem ornament, which features vintage gold-rim carving and a pink-purple gradient tassel pendant at the bottom. Although the accessory is heavy, its presence elevated the overall gorgeousness of the outfit to a whole new level. The detached sleeves feature delicate white lace ruching on the upper arms, while the sleeves themselves are adorned with cloud patterns and starry sky-themed color-blocked prints. In particular, the two extra-long silk ribbons inevitably risked tripping passersby or tangling with camera equipment at the convention, but to restore the character's flowing, ethereal, and calm aura, even the most troublesome ribbons had to be worn properly.

The lower half of the outfit features a dark starry sky base layered with a light purple cloud-patterned outer skirt. Paired with skin-tone base leggings that closely contour the legs and lace-up high-heeled boots, it visually elongates the body proportions nicely. Special thanks go to photographer Tianhuo for this shoot. The lighting at Firefly ACG Expo was quite chaotic, with ceiling lights and various fill-light spots easily causing odd overexposures or shadow discrepancies in the raw shots. However, under Tianhuo's patient guidance and candid captures, the ambient light was blended seamlessly. The second dynamic full-body shot was especially wonderful, with the sleeves and ribbons lifting with the motion, conveying a composed and grand sense of movement while capturing the character's confident elegance just right.

In fact, the shooting process at the convention is physically demanding. Although the costume has an off-the-shoulder design and appears fairly breathable for summer wear, the heavy headpiece and chest accessory left strap marks and soreness on my neck and shoulders after several hours of continuous wear, not to mention the pressure on the soles of my feet from walking in high-heeled boots all day. However, every time I saw the frozen moments in the viewfinder and received recognition and inquiries from convention-goers about the look, all the fatigue faded away. In terms of posing, besides basic stances like hands on hips or touching the temple, I intentionally incorporated the flowing ribbons, trying dynamic arm extensions to make the ribbons flutter. Such dynamic movements demand high balance and facial expression control—I had to control the swing arc of the sleeves while ensuring a relaxed and natural expression without looking strained from exertion.

This set of photos essentially brought to life the strategic, dignified presence I envisioned, thanks to the quality of the costume itself and the well-timed lighting on site. Cosplaying such intricate, detail-heavy designs at conventions always feels like a dual test of costume design and personal performance, but that is precisely where the joy of cosplay lies—capturing the most authentic visual texture of a game character in a real-world setting is truly delightful.
