[Ganyu Cosplay] Genshin Impact Maid Outfit & Fateful Day: Chongqing Dreamland Convention Records

Sharing a set of convention photos from Day 2 of Chongqing Dreamland! This outfit utilizes a hybrid design of Ganyu's maid outfit infused with Fateful Day elements. When putting together this styling, the primary consideration was how to give 2D designs richer 3D dimensional layering under the complex lighting of a convention venue.

For the top, I chose a black leather corset featuring a gold metal frog button at the front as the visual focal point. The neckline is rich in layering: the inner layer is a white lace choker, overlaid with a black lace hanging ornament adorned with a delicate blue gemstone pendant. The detached sleeves are the highlight of this look, using a detachable design with an inner layer of white semi-transparent mesh tulle and an outer layer of light blue chiffon. Layered multiple times, the edges are trimmed with exquisite lace and dainty blue ribbon bows. This design retains the original character's ethereal charm while infusing a strong maid outfit aesthetic, giving the sleeves a wonderful flowing movement when walking.

The lower half features a white multi-tiered pleated skirt spliced with light blue ruffles and white lace at the hem. On top is a semi-transparent apron, with gold embroidered text on the front serving as a lovely accent. To balance overall visual weight, I opted for black tights and a pair of glossy white high heels. This color-blocking mix of black, white, light blue, and gold helps prevent the look from getting washed out in dimly lit convention environments, instead making the silhouette pop prominently.

For head and facial details, the blue wig was styled with natural light waves, possessing rich texture layers and boosted root volume to flatter face contours. At the base of her signature red curved horn headpiece, white lace flowers, pearl strands, and silver feather ribbon bows were added, keeping the head look from feeling plain. For makeup, I selected a matte warm-toned rose bean paste lip color; the eyeshadow used an earth-tone base overlaid with clear shimmer, combined with subtle tightline eyeliner and curled lashes to make the eyes appear bright and expressive.

As for photography, this was shot on location at Chongqing Dreamland. The lighting environment on-site was quite complex, involving venue overhead lights as well as fill-lights from passersby. Huge thanks to photographer @酒中梨花 for balancing the light-dark contrast masterfully by adjusting camera angles and utilizing on-site softboxes. Especially in the photos where I sat on the white pedestal, crossing my legs with a fingertip lightly resting against my chin—combined with the contrast of black tights and white heels—it added a touch of composure and elegance to the playful vibe. Meanwhile, standing snapshots, such as the cat paw gesture in Photo 2, appeared distinctly lively.

The longer you do cosplay, the more you realize that details are the true soul. Wig strands must be combed through individually to ensure they don't look stiff on camera, and costume creases need to be carefully ironed out before shooting so every detail holds up under the lens. Being able to meet enthusiastic photographers at the convention and capture a set of convention photos with satisfying lighting texture and character expression was a fantastic experience. I was also thrilled to meet so many fellow fans who share a love for Genshin Impact, sharing my interpretation of the character and bringing it to life—that process itself is immensely fulfilling.
