Bringing to life this Resplendent Banquet theme for Yoimiya cosplay from Genshin Impact took roughly a month of dedicated preparation. Yoimiya has always been an energetic, radiant character in my heart, so when I got this opulent orange-hued attire, a vivid vision instantly crystallized in my mind. The costume features far more layers than expected: underneath is a multi-tiered white petticoat crinoline, while the outer skirt is crafted from lustrous bright orange satin, embellished with massive ribbon bows at the chest and waist. The sleeves were designed into puffy lantern sleeves made of semi-sheer tulle gossamer. To support the silhouette of the sleeves, fine wire was sewn inside so they wouldn't collapse when lifting or extending my arms, making shape adjustments much easier during shooting. The white plush faux-fur stole was an essential element of the overall look, balancing the visual punch of orange while adding a dreamy, winter wonderland texture in this cosplay.
For makeup, the eye styling utilized amber contact lenses, slightly winged eyeliner, and dense lashes to capture that signature radiant sparkle from the original character. The wig featured a golden-blonde base with orange gradient transitions along the tips and inner layers; the blunt bangs were textured lightly, tied at the crown with red-and-blue ribbons. The photographer put immense thought into the set design: vintage harlequin diamond wallpaper paired with a dark brown carved solid wood sofa draped with a white plush fur throw, accented by a bouquet of sunflowers on the left. As the warm amber key light cast down, the entire composition seemed bathed in a golden twilight glow. The black high heels served as the crowning touch of this styling, forming a bold contrast with the legs, plush fur, and gossamer gown.
The hardest part of the photoshoot was holding the poses. In the first shot lying back, to accentuate full-body lines, both legs were lifted high, with the left hand extended straight upward and the right hand resting before my chest. This pose was intensely demanding on core and leg strength—requiring a taut physique while maintaining relaxed facial expressions and lively, expressive eyes. In the second shot seated with chin cupped in both hands, to highlight the neck-and-shoulder contours and chest ornaments, shoulders had to sink naturally with chin slightly tucked. Communication with the photographer flowed seamlessly, with meticulous calibration for every angle. Lighting management was paramount: the warm glow needed to pierce through the orange sheer tulle and cast delicate shadows across the white plush fur, requiring real-time fine-tuning. Though exhausting, seeing the raw previews in the camera made every bit of effort completely worthwhile for this Genshin Impact fan work!
