[Huohuo Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Convention Photos: Fluffy Little Tail Brings Good Luck

Speaking of this set of convention photos, the thing that cannot be bypassed is definitely this tail. Tail! It's a tail! I'm super happy to see everyone loving this big fluffy light blue tail so much. Cosplaying Huohuo from Honkai: Star Rail this time, taking advantage of the natural light outside the anime convention venue, I took a very comfortable set of convention photos. Because the character's features are very distinct—especially the animal ears, fluffy tail, and this teal-green outfit—I was quite worried about the restoration level of the props and wig before shooting. That tail was specially custom-made; to maintain its fluffiness, a lot of effort went into internal support and fur grooming, and its character presence was instantly maximized during shooting. The wooden pole prop with the white flag tied to it and the bow knot in hand were also finely polished; the wooden stick deliberately retained its natural texture, giving it a great in-game feel in hand without looking too plastic.

As for makeup and hair, light mint green long hair was selected, paired with a dark official cap adorned with circular pattern decorations and fluffy animal ears. The makeup deliberately emphasized the agile feel of the eyes—that expression carrying a hint of nervousness while trying hard to show bravery took a long time to capture in front of the lens. The peacock blue and light pink color scheme on the costume, plus white thigh-high socks and shorts, makes the overall look appear both ethereal and playful as an Anime girl. Shooting outdoors, although the light was somewhat harsh, the cool-toned weather actually made the costume details—such as the circular totem pattern on the chest and the red tassels at the waist—appear very rich in layers. The combination of white socks and boots nicely sculpts leg shapes in both standing and sitting poses.

During the shoot, to find the most natural state, several poses were attempted, including sitting on the ground holding the flag, kneeling on one knee leaning against the railing, and interacting with my partner. Many people like a cool, sharp everyday feel, but I hoped to restore the character's light, nimble, slightly timid yet hardworking self-reliant nature in front of the camera. When holding the flag prop, the arm angle and flag tilt surface were adjusted many times, just to make the frame composition more balanced. The outdoor environment for this shoot was also very atmospheric; the black-and-yellow iron guardrails in the background and blue and yellow buses parked in the distance happened to build an open, spacious feeling that contrasts with the character's playful personality.

Considering post-processing during shooting, top lighting was avoided as much as possible, using side lighting instead to highlight wig layering and costume embroidery texture. Although outdoor wind was strong and the wig and tail were prone to getting messy, it was precisely this dynamic feel that made the convention photos look more vivid and breathing. Post-processing retained some real skin textures without over-pursuing skin smoothing, presenting a state with a stronger sense of real live participation, which is also the convention photo style I've always preferred.

Overall, I poured a lot of love and understanding for the character into this set of Cosplay convention photos, and I'm very happy to record it in this weather. Cleaning up and organizing this gear after shooting was a huge project, but seeing the final photos made all the previous preparation work feel completely worth it.
