This styling features Hatsune Miku's Immediate Reincarnation, and the Convention photos are finally sorted out. What I really want to highlight is the fabric and details of this costume: the glossy pink material was highly reflective under the convention venue lights, easily overexposing if not careful, so the photographer and I tested multiple angles to achieve the current texture. The wig was by far the hardest part to manage—teal twin-tails adorned with red-and-white striped ribbon bows and flowing ribbons at the ends. To keep the twin-tails curved just right, I used a lot of hairspray. The ribbons tangled easily while walking, requiring constant smoothing by hand. The Magic wand prop was also quite heavy; keeping it steady while holding a single-knee kneeling pose made my leg genuinely tremble. With my entire body weight pressed onto my right leg, the pairing of White tights and platform shoes looked gorgeous, but standing in platform shoes all day at the convention made them feel very heavy and left my feet aching. Furthermore, the feather trim on the gloves easily snagged on the stars of the Magic wand, requiring checks after every shot to ensure no snags occurred. The main reason for choosing this pose was to capitalize on the tiered skirt hem—the white lace naturally draped down due to gravity, accentuating the leg lines with the White tights, while kneeling on one knee visually elongated my proportions. The song Immediate Reincarnation naturally carries a vibe that is both upbeat and slightly heartbreaking, so I wanted to express this contrast through a slightly upturned gaze and the upward-held Magic wand. The venue environment for these Convention photos was rather chaotic, so subtle background blur was added in post-production to enhance the character's fantasy aura. The costume's white collar and bow tie were custom-made with a crisp, structured texture. With many passersby around during shooting, we had to seize quick gaps in the crowd, often having to clear out when people walked into the background right after getting into position. Looking back on this shoot, despite spending so much effort wrestling with this styling, seeing the flared angle of the skirt and the fluttering red-and-white ribbons in the final shots made all the prep work feel worthwhile. Convention lighting is chaotic, but high-saturation colors like pink and teal offer a massive visual advantage, standing out easily in the crowd—though post-processing also requires keeping skin tones translucent and preventing pink color cast on the face. Having to watch out not to bump anyone's head when raising the Magic wand high made for a genuinely fun convention memory.
