Putting on this costume and stepping into the studio, as the warm lights turn on, the cosplay process feels like starting a magical journey to Inazuma. I chose to play Kirara this time because I've always loved her iconic blonde hair, animal ears styling, and her dedicated yet energetic personality as a Komaniya Express courier. The hardest part of the preparation stage was actually styling the wig; it took quite a bit of time to present that lightweight texture and the ahoge on top of her head. I also specially chose translucent green colored contact lenses and makeup, hoping to get closer to the character's temperament. For the shoot, I specifically selected a Japanese style screen with crane patterns and red sun elements as the background, which, combined with the blooming pink cherry blossoms, pushed the atmospheric feel to the absolute max. There are many rich props in the scene, such as paper lanterns and an exquisite Japanese tea set. I especially want to mention that cardboard box, which was custom-painted with animal patterns and became a very fun, soulful highlight in this photoshoot. Holding the cardboard box to deliver a package, or kneeling on one knee to hand over a parcel, allowed me to fully immerse myself in the courier identity. During the shooting breaks, sitting by the wooden table, touching the teacup, or leaning against that umbrella made me feel a sense of cross-dimensional tranquility. The light filtered through the paper lanterns, softly reflecting on the blue and white fabric of the costume, providing excellent detail and texture. This costume's color palette, with blue and white overlaid with golden rope knots, possesses a classic Japanese aesthetic, and the drape of the sleeves while moving on set is also wonderful. For someone like me who has always loved Genshin Impact, being able to highly restore a favorite character is an incredibly happy process. During the shoot, the photographer captured many delicate moments, including slightly closing my eyes to feel the atmosphere, playfully holding the collar, or generously opening my arms. In every frame, I worked hard to showcase the character's agile side in front of the lens. The action in the photo where I am holding the box and handing it out was to simulate a real delivery interaction, while the moments of raising both hands high or pinching the collar were meant to add a bit of playful atmosphere to the frame. In terms of costume details, the texture of the metal hooks, the tassels hanging from the waist, and the white flower decorations on the arms combine to provide a very rich visual layering. Additionally, because the entire scene incorporated Japanese style lanterns and beautiful oil-paper umbrellas, the interplay of light and shadow beautifully highlighted the silhouette of this outfit. Paired with the crane screen behind me and the surrounding cherry blossoms, the whole environment looks incredibly dreamy yet full of a slice-of-life feel. As a cosplayer, confidence in front of the lens and an understanding of the character go hand in hand. This immersive photography sharing experience has brought me more resonance with the character. This photoset records a lot of hard work in production and shooting, and I hope that through these frozen moments of light and shadow, the cuteness of Kirara and the service spirit of Komaniya Express can be conveyed to everyone.
