[Gongsun Li Cosplay] Agile Bunny Ears in Red and Black Ancient Style: Dancing with an Umbrella in the Garden

This photoshoot of Gongsun Li Cosplay in her default skin from Honor of Kings focused primarily on utilizing light, shadow, and composition to accentuate silhouette contours. To complement the costume, the set was specifically chosen in a traditional Chinese room with wooden lattice screens and calligraphy artwork. The wide red-and-orange sleeves harmonized beautifully with the warm yellow glow of lanterns, while the garment tailoring was the core consideration this time. The top's neckline and cut nicely elongated the neck line, with a black choker as an accent, and cut-out designs at the chest and waist enriched the outfit's layers. The bottoms featured high-slit black-and-gold wide-leg pants embroidered with golden maple leaves on the hems, which, paired with a low-angle camera position, perfectly elongated leg proportions. The platform red shoes with pom-poms stabilized my center of gravity while visually boosting height.

For props, I selected an orange-red oiled-paper umbrella; holding it while standing on one leg helped maintain body balance, while the geometric curves of the umbrella rim enriched the composition. In the seated shots, I specifically adjusted how my legs were crossed, letting the high-slit design reveal smooth leg lines, infusing the character's cuteness with a touch of alluring charm. Because the Bunny ears and tail are relatively large in volume, we had to mind their interaction with the background during posing—preventing them from obscuring my face while keeping adequate separation from the hair to avoid stiffness.

Throughout the shoot, the most challenging aspect was pose stability. Balancing on one foot while keeping the wide sleeves from collapsing and directing the umbrella squarely toward the light source demanded substantial core strength and arm control. To capture that fleeting moment of airborne agility, we tried repeatedly, almost losing balance each time. However, seeing the moment in the photos where the hem and sash gently billowed in the air made all the effort worthwhile. Prep work also involved significant time on makeup—orange eyeshadow and a translucent base were tailored to give the character an ethereal charm on camera. Previously, Ancient style shoots often leaned dignified or chivalric, but this time I experienced the lively bounce of a bunny-themed character. Wearing such fabric-heavy attire in the summer was indeed a bit stuffy, but seeing the frozen moments in the camera made me genuinely thrilled to interpret this character in my own way through Chinese-style photography.
