[Xishi Mermaid's Song Cosplay] Eye-Contact Challenge with the Little Dragon, Freezing My Main Character in Time

Bringing this Mermaid's Song outfit to life through Cosplay photography took considerable effort from initial prep to the final shot. As my main hero who has accompanied me for a long time in Honor of Kings, I always hoped to use a more fitting visual language to interpret the lively, flowing, yet celestial beauty of \"Xishi Mermaid's Song\".

In terms of costumes and props, the biggest challenge lay in material selection and detail accuracy. The translucent, blue-green antler-like headpiece needed to convey a crystal-clear, water-like translucency without looking heavy on camera. The fin-like ear ornaments and dangling pearl tassels were also selected after many trials to ensure they reflected cool-toned shimmer under the lights. The metal folding fan ornament on the chest serves as both a visual anchor and a layer-adding detail to the ensemble. Dominated by pure white and ice blue with subtle diamond-like embellishments, wearing the outfit demands flawless posture, requiring constantly opened shoulders to support that airy lightness.

For the shoot, we specifically selected a cool-toned set and lighting setup that fit the skin design. Centered around the theme of \"eye-contact with the little dragon\", we intentionally designed several hand extensions and moments of eye contact toward the lens. Reaching out a hand to touch the space ahead or turning back mid-profile toward the camera better captured the interactive atmosphere with the spiritual beast. The hairstyle incorporated a light white wig with subtle pale purple extensions, keeping the bangs naturally fluffy to create a dynamic illusion of hair caught in a breeze. To replicate the icy realm and aquatic ambiance of the official poster, the photographer added corresponding water-ripple light effects to make the entire frame even more ethereal.

Regarding angles, one photo proved exceptionally suitable as a cover: the subject is centered, physical tension is well balanced, and the layers of the costume unfold fully, working with light and shadow to evoke a snowy dragon palace vibe. As a cosplayer, attempting characters rich in Chinese-style Xianxia elements is never just about wearing an outfit—it is a process of drawing closer to the character's core. The design elements of \"Xishi Mermaid's Song\" blend dragon, water, and ice motifs. To convey both cool detachment and gentle warmth during the shoot, facial expressions had to be finely tuned: lively without feeling stiff, and gentle without being exaggerated.

Throughout the entire shoot, I deeply felt that high-quality Cosplay photography is not just about replicating costume details, but also about capturing the character's aura. Looking at the flowing light and shadow in the final shots made all the fatigue of wearing heavy wigs and intricate accessories fade away. The visual effect of coexisting cool elegance and vitality conveyed by this piece serves as my tribute to my main hero.
