The color palette of this Orchid's Evening Gown skin is truly gorgeous—the gradient gauze skirt of light blue and pale pink, adorned with silver accessories, involves so many details to recreate. The silver-white tassels of the headpiece and the metallic patterns on the chest required repeated angle adjustments to ensure they didn't look clunky, but fortunately, the final effect was maxed out with an ethereal aura.
This shoot took place in the public area of the convention, where the lighting was quite chaotic, but the reflection from the floor unexpectedly added a soft-focus filter to the whole look. To highlight the lightness of the skirt hem, I deliberately chose a one-legged standing posture to let the gauze material drape and flutter naturally, while also preventing the skirt hem from piling up on the floor and looking bulky. The wig was trimmed in layers, matching the light pink gradient of the eye makeup to fit the character's gentle temperament as much as possible.
The choice of clothing fabric is crucial; this mix of chiffon and pearlescent gauze gives off a flowing luster when walking, but it wrinkles easily, requiring a lot of time for ironing and tidying before the shoot. With people coming and going at the venue, I am really happy to get these two clean-composition Convention photo report snapshots with perfect expressions. Every gesture of Xishi carries a more classical gentleness, so I also intentionally controlled my arm lines and fingertip details. I hope to deliver that agile yet tranquil feeling of the character to everyone. Cosplay is not just about putting on clothes, but a serious contemplation and expression of the character's inner spirit.
