I've finally finished sorting through these Convention photos of Kozeki Ui. Because I adore her quiet, introverted, and slightly timid demeanor, I put a lot of thought into her expressions and gestures during the shoot. As for props, the double-layered golden halo overhead was custom-polished repeatedly by a prop maker; its translucency was ideal and it had a solid, substantial weight in hand. The book was also intentionally selected with a dark blue cover and gold foil detailing, offering a wonderful texture when flipping through the pages. For the outfit, a white sailor-collar shirt is paired with a purple bow, loosely draped with a chunky lavender knit cardigan—this off-the-shoulder styling captures her shy, introverted nature perfectly. The lower half features a long pleated skirt paired with White stockings and white sneakers; sitting on the steps conveniently revealed my legs, creating a very clean, cohesive look. Given her socially anxious setting, exaggerated expressions were out of the question; emotion was conveyed through subtle micro-actions like adjusting my glasses, clutching the book, or looking down as I read. The photographer found a spot framed by glass railings and bannisters, harnessing natural lighting while grading the tones cooler in post-production, infusing the entire set with a serene, tranquil vibe. With the heavy convention crowds, finding clear angles took effort and felt a bit tiring, but seeing the final Anime-style photography made everything worthwhile. I learned a great deal during the process—from mastering subtle eye expressions for a quiet character to using a wide aperture to blur crowds and highlight the subject. Cosplay goes beyond simply wearing a costume; it requires delving into the character's psyche to express that quiet, slightly melancholic academic presence. This shoot was an unforgettable experience that deepened my understanding of Ui.
