Cutting straight to the chase, this finished photoshoot of Aemeath Cosplay from Wuthering Waves reached an exceptionally high level of completion. From the tailoring of the garments to the tactile texture of the props, it faithfully captured that distinctive 2D aesthetic infused with sci-fi mecha elements. To harmonize with the character, I styled a pink wig crowned with a starburst halo headpiece, accented throughout with delicate light blue ornaments that gently softened an otherwise rigid sci-fi aesthetic. For makeup, I wore red colored contacts blended with a reddish-pink wash around the eye contours, adding a blue heart decal below the collarbone to maximize fine detailing.
The core bodice is a structured white corset detailed with black graphic lines and golden piping, anchored at the collar by a black geometric criss-cross choker and a blue ribbon bow. On the arms, I wore long white opera gloves adorned with metallic plates across the knuckles and wrists. The lower half paired black shorts with white over-the-knee high-heeled boots and White stockings styling. The weightiest element of this outfit was the expansive blue-and-pink gradient train and fluttering ribbons trailing behind, accented with metallic gold striping; when walking or posing, the train billowed into a dramatic flare that looked gorgeous yet carried substantial physical weight. A golden thigh ring cinched around the leg, beautifully accentuating leg contours alongside the crisp white boots.
The featured prop weapon was a polearm-length sword with a sleek silver blade and a hilt detailed with blue crystals and mechanical joints. Beyond the long sword, I brought along a chibi plush doll with pink hair; cradling it during seated takes or between rest breaks broke up the intense combat atmosphere with an endearing touch of contrast. The set was staged on a cyberpunk-inspired esports stage, backed by multi-monitor displays streaming graphics and bubble patterns. Flanked by open computer chassis, vintage monitors, and cascading black cables illuminated by purple-and-pink neon lighting, it exuded a potent aura of futuristic technology.
In posing design, I explored standing, seated, and crouching postures to highlight the unique facets of this costume. Standing poses emphasized martial sharpness with the blade and full-body proportions, while seated poses highlighted the interplay between the legs and the tall boots. Because of the form-fitting corset and over-the-knee high-heeled boots, maintaining disciplined posture and core engagement throughout the session was crucial to projecting an upright, regal stance before the lens. Navigating tall heels required steady balance, and because the sweeping train could easily be stepped on, repositioning between shots took deliberate care.
The garment's fabrics held up impeccably under studio lighting—the white panels never looked washed out, while black and gold accents provided clean contrast. During the shoot, I intentionally leveraged the ambient neon lighting, letting magenta and violet highlights kiss the fabric folds and pink hair strands to enhance color saturation. Looking at the finished images, the overall result fully realized my creative expectations for this look, delivering a deeply satisfying harmony of color palettes and character posture.
