[Yin Ziping cosplay] NARAKA: BLADEPOINT at Jiangmen Jieyuan Comic Exhibition: A Collision of White Stockings and Lace Qipao

The convention photos for this Yin Ziping cosplay at the Jiangmen Jieyuan Comic Exhibition are finally compiled. The lighting at the venue was quite complex that day, and it was thanks to photographer NightDiva bringing several large LED fill lights that the transitions between highlights and shadows were preserved, keeping the image texture completely on point.

First, let's talk about the costume details. The outfit is based primarily on pure white, blending a traditional Chinese mandarin collar with a modified qipao silhouette, crisply outlined by black trims. The petal-shaped cutouts at the chest and both sides of the waist are definite highlights of this look; in addition to the black borders, pearl chains bridge the cutouts inside, swaying subtly with every step. The fabric features jacquard weaves with silver floral embroidery, which could easily overexpose under the convention's natural lighting, so we deliberately utilized softboxes to balance the lighting ratio and bring out the subtle weave details. Translucent organza and lace frills were generously incorporated at the shoulders and skirt hem, creating rich dimensionality, though they snag easily and required extra care during shooting.

The wig was a long, straight silver-white style with blunt bangs and long side fringes, styled into symmetrical twin ponytail bunches secured by white lace bows and black lace ribbons. To capture an airy, weightless feel in the strands, several frames were snapped candidly whenever a breeze drifted past, looking far more spontaneous than static poses. For makeup, the base was set quite pale, focusing heavily on the eyes; gray-blue contacts paired with distinctly separated lashes, softened by a touch of pink blush across the cheeks to balance the cool white tones.

Regarding poses, we explored diverse perspectives. The first shot employed a perspective composition with fingers pointing directly toward the lens, using a wide-angle lens to deliver strong visual punch while carefully managing facial distortion. Subsequent shots featured hands on hips from the front, leaning forward, and looking back over the shoulder. The white fingerless gloves and ribbons on my hands fluttered naturally with the movements. On the lower half, wearing white over-the-knee Stockings while walking around the hall not only flattered the leg contours, but also harmonized with the overall white scheme, nicely balancing the visual proportions alongside the short lace hemline.

The convention floor was bare concrete, and walking for hours definitely took a toll on the soles of my feet. The hall was crowded that day, with photography gear, folding chairs, and roaming attendees visible in the background. In such a cluttered environment, relying on a wide aperture to blur out the background was essential. For high-angle shots, I either stood on stairs or had the photographer shoot from an elevated perspective, which successfully bypassed the crowds while showcasing the garment's waist cutouts and full skirt.

Overall, the synergy between makeup, styling, and photography was superb; NightDiva's mastery of light and shadow brought out the rich fabric textures and clean body contours effortlessly. Sorting through these convention photos brings back the exhaustion of scouring the venue for shooting spots, yet capturing these memorable frames made it all worthwhile.
