[Storyteller cosplay] Final Fantasy XIV Miqo'te exotic fashion and styling sharing

This set of Final Fantasy XIV Storyteller cosplay photos is finally fully retouched, and I can finally breathe a sigh of relief and share them slowly for everyone to see. I put a lot of thought into this Miqo'te shoot, from the early costume matching to the later color grading. Every single photo was meticulously tweaked by myself, and after finishing the retouching, my neck felt stiff.

Let's talk about the costume styling this time. The overall vibe is an exotic dancer style, with the main color scheme being white light tulle and gold accessories. The top is a translucent white tulle tied bandeau, and the waist is paired with very intricate gold metal carvings and bead tassels, making a crisp clinking sound when moving. The bottom is also white harem pants of the same material; to add a sense of layers, gold ring accessories are worn on both ankles and wrists. Pink braided hair and cat ears are the core of the fixed styling, and the turquoise gemstone and gold neckpiece on the forehead add a lot of exotic feel. Since there are no stockings paired, I tried to put more effort into showcasing the lines of the legs and feet. Being barefoot paired with an anklet actually makes posing harder because the arc of the instep needs to be tensed all the time.

The shooting location was set up very dreamily, but it also took a lot of effort. The background used a lot of white draping and gold tassels, along with a hanging gold birdcage prop, and the floor was covered with a Persian-style rug and mirror surfaces. For lighting, warm yellow light was used, combined with gold sequins scattered on the spot, originally aiming to capture a luxurious yet mysterious atmosphere. The shooting process was actually quite tiring because there are many costume accessories, so the range of motion couldn't be too large, and the waist and abdomen lines had to be maintained all the time. Moreover, sitting on the rug to pose requires repeatedly adjusting the angle of the feet, otherwise it would look stiff. Gold accessories are prone to overexposure under strong light, so the lighting angles were constantly micro-adjusted during the shoot.

Post-processing retouching is the highlight. I usually like to retain the real skin texture when editing photos, avoiding excessive smoothing, and only unifying the light, shadow, and color tones. Because this set of photos has many golden elements and is very sensitive to light, it requires careful adjustment of the balance between highlights and shadows to give the gold accessories a metallic luster without overexposure, while also bringing out the layering and transparency of the white tulle. The skin part mainly addressed dullness and evened out skin tone while preserving natural textures. The sequins and light spots in the background were also enhanced to some extent during post-processing to make the overall atmosphere richer. For the pink hair and green contact lenses, color unification and optimization were also done separately.

Regarding FFXIV-style fashion, it's actually a style that is quite common in FFXIV and very suitable for photo shoots. Combining the Miqo'te ears with exotic clothing this time is considered a new attempt. While creating this set, I kept thinking about how to showcase the clothing details more clearly, including the metal chains and anklets at the waist, so most poses were trying their best to show off the costume's design. During retouching, every single flaw was edited out, and after huffing and puffing through all the edits, I can finally share them slowly.
