Slipping into this The Shorekeeper look and sitting down on the carved vintage sofa, I suddenly felt the surrounding air grow a few degrees quiet.
The real-scene location chosen for this shoot was decorated with ornate European carved furniture, featuring a flickering electric fireplace behind me and a dark wooden piano in the corner. This warm-toned ambient backdrop formed a wonderful warm-and-cool contrast against my light Blue hair style and attire from Wuthering Waves.
For the costume fabrics, we selected a Light gauze dress material featuring a holographic pearlescent surface layer paired with fine sequin embroidery. Under indoor studio lighting, the white gauze dress refracted rainbow-like iridescence, making the hemline and body contours appear beautifully luminous. Beyond the soft Light gauze dress, I feel the black rhinestone choker and delicate metallic chains draped across the shoulders served as the soul of the outfit. Pairing crisp, structural accessories with delicate tulle added visual layering while balancing out any potential monotony from a pure white gown.
The wig utilized an airy short Blue hair style with rich strand details, topped with a white feather hair accessory that added a sense of lightness to the ensemble. For makeup, I deliberately opted for a bright, clean look tailored to my facial features, complemented by purple contact lenses. During shooting, the photographer reminded me to rely heavily on gazes and subtle body language to convey emotion; since this character design leans toward quiet ethereality, exaggerated expressions were unnecessary.
We experimented with several distinct compositions and poses throughout the session. These included a profile shot resting my chin on my hand to highlight arm lines and collarbones, as well as full-body shots seated on the edge of the sofa with knees gently bent—which gorgeously captured leg silhouettes and the delicate folds of tulle cascading around my bare feet. Bare feet pressed against sofa cushions felt remarkably grounding, encouraging me to relax naturally. With every shutter click, I searched for the most comfortable seated posture, as true relaxation is what imbues photos with an effortless, languid ambiance.
Regarding post-processing for this set, the photographer and I agreed to preserve the warm ambient mood while keeping skin tones luminous and preserving fine hair texture. Looking at myself through the lens, this look truly allowed me to slip instantly into character. Since the skirt hem spread out quite wide, controlling movement smoothly without crushing the gauze details presented a modest challenge. Yet looking at the final portraits, every frame features beautifully soft light and shadow, highlighting the gown's ethereal texture on camera.
Every photoshoot is ultimately a journey of character immersion. Among vintage furnishings and immersive sets, slowly discovering and capturing the precise emotional resonance of the look is the truest joy of this craft.
