Bringing Yixian Yimu's "Hua Wu" to the Guangzhou Cultural Center to shoot a Chinese-Western eclectic style look was truly an exceptional experience. I've always wanted to try this design that combines traditional Hanfu elements with Lolita style, and this purple-and-black color-blocked Chinese girl styling completely hit my aesthetic preferences.

Let's talk about the costume details first. What attracts me most about this outfit is its textural layering. The inner layer is a light purple wide-sleeved top featuring large-scale white floral embroidery on the sleeves with an extremely delicate texture. The outer layer is a black semi-transparent lace vest adorned with purple-and-white floral patterns across the chest. The absolute highlight is the bottom skirt; the hem of the large flared black skirt not only features butterfly and floral prints, but also casts a laser sheen under light refraction, looking exceptionally dynamic when walking.

Regarding makeup and the Hanfu hairstyle, to match the Chinese-Western eclectic style, I specially crafted a brown twin-tail look featuring blunt bangs. Adorning the crown of the head is a headdress composed of black lace, feathers, and purple flowers, with white semi-transparent bows tied to the braids, blending the gentleness of traditional Chinese style with the sweetness of Lolita. The makeup heavily enhanced blush and eyeshadow, with pinkish eye makeup making the overall vibe look much more energetic. In my hand is a round circular fan, with purple tassels echoing the overall color tone.

The shooting location was chosen as the Guangzhou Cultural Center. The Lingnan garden architecture and dark wooden railings here are an absolute match made in heaven for this outfit. Inside the wooden corridors, I experimented with multiple poses. Standing on the steps and letting the skirt hem drape naturally showcases the garment's silhouette wonderfully. Sitting by the corridor window, gently resting my chin on the round fan or raising the fan high with a slight head tilt captures a tranquil classical ambiance. Sitting on the railings beside the pond, backed by vast lotus leaves and rockeries, utilizes a shallow depth of field to blur the background while keeping the focus squarely on the subject, creating a deeply narrative feel.

The lighting on the shooting day was relatively soft, with a bit of sunlight filtering through the leaves. To showcase the skirt hem's details, the photographer specifically guided me through a few spins and walking movements, capturing candid moments of the skirt floating gracefully. Although the costume's material features abundant layers, it never feels overly heavy; instead, thanks to the lightweight sheer fabric, it exudes an ethereal, fairy-like vibe in the gentle breeze.

During this process, I also noticed a few matching tips. For instance, because the clothing itself is quite gorgeous, excessive accessories aren't necessary—focusing on the layering of the Hanfu hairstyle and the fan is more than enough. The wide-sleeved design tends to make arms look thicker when raising hands for photos, so it's best to slightly bend the elbows, utilizing the fan for shielding or gaze guidance to render the lines softer.

The Guangzhou Cultural Center is genuinely a treasure trove of a shooting location; architectures and plants of diverse styles provide new inspiration every time I visit. The photos captured this time closely match my vision for this outfit in both composition and color. Blending traditional and modern elements to wear one's own unique style is perhaps the greatest charm of the Chinese-Western eclectic style.
