Shimoe Koharu's Chinese girl Qipao cosplay look from Blue Archive was finally realized to perfection during this white studio shoot. The costume design is laden with intricate nuances: the modernized black qipao combines a high mandarin collar with a front keyhole cutout, while light-toned piping along the edges enhances structural contrast. To honor the concept, I paired it with a white plush fur stole, over-the-knee White stockings, and matching high heels. Her signature pink twin buns were preserved, accessorized with black feather hair ornaments and topped with the orange-red geometric halo prop, creating an arresting chromatic contrast.

Lighting inside the white studio was vital to elevating the garments' textures. To accentuate the sleek luster of the qipao silk and the plush softness of the fur stole, the lighting technician repeatedly adjusted side-rim backlights, ensuring crisp subject exposure while preventing the clean backdrop from flattening the image. To resonate with the Chinese girl aesthetic, a classic Chinese wooden round-backed armchair served as our visual anchor. Crossing my legs while seated on the chair beautifully showcased the texture of the White stockings and the elongated leg contours. When holding the slender long-stem pipe, my posture relaxed with gently dropped wrists and a calm, languid gaze to command the outfit's presence.

Of course, Koharu inherently carries a shy, flustered persona, so embodying this mature qipao styling required subtle balance in my eye contact and micro-expressions. For instance, in the frames holding the translucent folding fan, I lowered my chin slightly and looked askance—capturing both the traditional grace of a Chinese girl and Koharu's adorable demureness without tipping into uncharacteristic maturity. Spilled red wine and a stemmed goblet on the floor were added spontaneously to inject narrative tension, setting up a striking visual clash between the crisp White stockings and rich wine red.

The makeup pursued dewy clarity, emphasizing clean, sleek eyeliner paired with pinkish-brown contacts to give direct looks into the lens penetrating depth. Shooting in an all-white cyc space demands immaculate light control; bouncing light can easily wash out facial planes, so contouring was kept restrained, allowing ambient light to sculpt facial contours naturally. Wielding the long pipe and folding fan offered dynamic tools to guide viewer focus and enrich framing. Modulating the pipe's height, the opening angle of the fan, and finger placement directly shaped the final composition.

Considerable thought went into posing direction to capture dynamic fluid energy within static portraiture. From costume smoothing and prop handling to adjusting standing and seated stances, every step involved continuous refinement. Maintaining sleek leg muscle tone while seated in high heels and over-the-knee White stockings required deliberate posture control. Through this project, I aimed to share an alternate fan-concept facet of Shimoe Koharu, harmonizing 2D character essence with tangible fashion tailoring.
