[Dialyn Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Chinese Girl Look and Giant Ring Prop

This Chinese girl styling for Dialyn from Zenless Zone Zero took two full weeks from costume fitting to the formal shoot. The details of this outfit are far more intricate than they appear at first glance. Starting with the black-and-white split-dye wig: grooming and styling the two thick braided pigtails alone took ages to achieve the right volume and clean weave. The panda elements hair buns and red accents had to be repeatedly repositioned during shooting to avoid being obscured by the oversized lace bell sleeves on camera.

Regarding the outfit, it merges a traditional Chinese mandarin stand collar and frog buttons with anime maid-style lace ruffles. The waistline is loaded with detailed accessories, including a green telephone handset, a red-and-green coiled spiral cord, and card pouches. The lower half features white stockings paired with black straps and plush pom-poms; the solid-wood platform shoes visually elongated the legs, but their heavy wooden weight made extended standing and walking agonizing. To harmonize with the Chinese girl and bamboo aesthetic, I set up faux bamboo shoots and wooden fences in the studio, attempting to merge classical Eastern mood with cyberpunk vibes.

What I'm most excited to share is the prop and action choreography. The gigantic black-and-gold circular ring prop was remarkably heavy, complete with internal luminous nodes and linear accents. To capture the character's agile combat poses, I planned numerous expansive, dynamic postures—including balancing on one leg, low crouching side-splits, and even attempting full splits. That line about someone who can't do splits aching for a whole day afterwards is no joke. As someone with average flexibility, every deep lunge and split sent intense strain through my inner thighs and hip joints. The second the photographer called 'cut,' I had to hop up and massage my legs. To keep the muscle tone looking fluid and natural in low-to-the-ground crawl and side-lying poses, I consciously pointed my toes and tensed my leg muscles; cycling through those sequences left me so sore I could barely walk the next day. Still, seeing how the white stockings and wardrobe textures gained striking dimension under the studio lights, with the curve of the ring slicing perfectly across the composition, made all that physical exertion feel completely worth it. By carefully controlling the balance of highlights and shadows, this fusion of traditional motifs and futuristic sci-fi aesthetic yielded a clean, luminous texture.
