[Exusiai the New Covenant cosplay] Arknights: The Red-Haired Angel and the Apple

Today's Exusiai the New Covenant cosplay took quite a while to polish, from hair and makeup down to the finest costume details. To faithfully capture the essence of this character from Arknights, I deliberately picked a vibrant, high-saturation red wig, styling it with separated layers to give the hair a fluffier, more natural feel. The halo overhead was a lightweight prop that required finding precise angles during the shoot so it looked naturally suspended above the tips of my hair. The striking contrast between the black leather jacket and white inner layer really stood out. Details on the jacket—like the zippers, silver accents, and red straps—took considerable time to put on and take off, especially aligning the cross pendant on the neck and the red cords on the arms into their exact positions with each adjustment.

The apple served as a crucial prop for this look. Playing into the caption 'An apple a day brings the Doctor closer to me' (Apple Joy), I deliberately cradled the apple in the palm of my hand while posing, adding a hint of inviting playfulness and sly wit in my gaze. The black fingerless gloves had great texture and provided a firm grip on the prop. For the bottom, I paired black leather shorts with leg garters, carefully adjusting the tension of the leg straps so they wouldn't dig into the skin while still maintaining a sharp, snug contour on camera.

Collaborating with photographer @老八 (Broken Player) for this studio shoot went exceptionally smoothly. The seamless white background provided a clean canvas that accentuated the bold color clash between the red hair and black leather. Since the leather material reflects light strongly, the lighting was meticulously configured; I repeatedly tweaked the angles of my shoulders and chin to ensure the sheen looked sleek and refined on camera. To convey that signature mix of vibrant energy and subtle danger unique to the character, I maintained a slight, knowing smirk and held direct eye contact with the lens while holding the apple, aiming to bring out an engaging interaction between character and prop.

Cosplay is about more than just putting on a costume; it's about channeling the character's aura and lore into body language. The outfit came with numerous accessories—red cords, silver buckles, zippers, and printed patterns—adding noticeable physical weight. Seeing the high level of fidelity in the final frames made all the prep work and meticulous posing completely worthwhile. The overall mood came through seamlessly, and both the framing and proportions hit the mark, fully bringing out the visual impact of this ensemble.
