Standing in the middle of the convention venue dressed in this Ganyu outfit, it felt as though the surrounding atmosphere dropped a few degrees. The photos were shot quickly by my partners during a break in the crowd, and as soon as they were exported, I decided to organize and share them immediately.

The focus of this outdoor photoshoot was placed on the practical aspects of the garment materials. The blue and white dress features a layered light tulle design; though layered, its lightweight nature allows it to easily create a flowing, dynamic movement when walking. The wig chose a blue-to-white gradient, thin-layered at the ends, which not only avoids a heavy feel in static shots but also facilitates building appropriate fluffiness in windy weather. For makeup, emphasis was placed on eyeliner and blending cold-toned eyeshadows, paired with light blue contact lenses to make the eyes look brighter.

Positioning for the butterfly prop was actually tested across several placements before settling on a dual approach using both hair ornaments and hand-held props. Half-covering the face with the butterfly during shooting avoided an overly direct gaze, while holding it in hand added visual focus to the frame. The transparent thick-heeled sandals were prepared in advance; this shoe style elongates leg lines significantly on camera, and blends perfectly with the blue-toned dress.

Besides standing poses, we tried sitting and kneeling poses several times. In particular, the one sitting on the luggage case captured the realistic mid-break vibe of a convention. White ribbon wrapped around the arms without feeling overly cluttered, adding line details to the bare arms and elevating the overall styling completion through these small details.

Convention environments are crowded, which tests shooting chemistry immensely. We used high-brightness cold-toned lighting extensively to process shadows, striving to keep the photo texture unified. Post-processing focused on preserving translucent skin tones, keeping the overall set's color palette within a comfortable range. As a player who frequently shoots outdoors, every time I pick a character, I consider the compatibility between character personality traits and the shooting environment. Shooting in the outdoor hallway this time, utilizing the environment's innate sense of extension and cold-toned wall tiles, matched the character's cool-toned photography setting perfectly, yielding better results than expected.

Image quality matters, which refers not merely to beauty filters or color adjustments, but more to the physical feel while shooting. The lightness of the skirt combined with heel-less-feeling high heels allows strides to look more natural while moving. Although long flowing ribbons add motion to the lens, care must be taken during shooting to control their direction and avoid excessive horizontal cut lines. In post-processing, I kept the blue and white purity intact as much as possible without adding warm stray lights, fitting the ethereal vibe bestowed upon the character.

In addition to solo close-ups, interacting with fellow Genshin Impact fans at the convention makes for an even more enjoyable experience. Although I didn't get to take group shots this time, solo poses within this cool-toned photography composition fully showcase character traits. Being immersed in this character, the noisy sounds around truly felt far away—this is probably the magic that 2D anime gives to the real world, allowing a brief escape from reality without any burden. I hope these convention photos convey this cool yet gentle atmospheric vibe to everyone.
