[Sparkle cosplay] The Star Rail Land Illusion for Honkai: Star Rail 3rd Anniversary Celebration

The texture of this red, black, and white spliced modified Japanese-style coat was already quite exceptional when I first got it. The color scheme itself is highly eye-catching, and paired with the wide ruffles at the neckline and the unique off-the-shoulder design, it balances the lively dynamics of Anime-style photography while preserving the character's inherently nimble and cunning traits. To restore this character authentically, I put a tremendous amount of thought into the styling and coordination. The wide black waistband not only beautifully cinched the silhouette of the upper body but also added rich layers to the white short skirt below. The rabbit-eared mini top hat on my head is one of the visual highlights of the entire look, enriching the profile lines of the head. The long, straight silver-white hair, paired with meticulously designed red highlights, forms a clever echo with the red elements of the costume. For makeup, I specifically opted for a red-toned eyeshadow and matching lip color, which, together with that highly striking pair of red eyes, allowed me to align more closely with the character's demeanor.

The scene setup for this photo set is exceptionally unique; the entire studio was constructed to resemble a secret laboratory or an underground workshop. The metal racks and electronic instruments in the background inherently carry a cold, technological ambiance, while my highly saturated red-toned outfit under this cold blue-and-white environmental light source shapes an incredibly intense warm-and-cold visual impact. A massive amount of transparent plastic sheeting was spread across the floor. Under the illumination of the studio lights, these films generated mottled refractions and reflections, infusing a hint of dreaminess into the originally harsh industrial environment. Leveraging these environmental characteristics, the photographer purposely arranged several contrasting elements—such as a silver disco ball placed on the floor and a red-and-white warning pillar nearby. These props filled the frame with an absurd yet playful wit, aligning perfectly with the character's troublemaking, eccentric personality base in the lore.

During the shooting process, we experimented with numerous sitting and kneeling postures to capture different emotional registers. Figure 1 beautifully catches that somewhat nonchalant yet smug state of the character; coordinated with the black gloves on my hands and the red straps on my legs, my entire presence looks remarkably relaxed yet highly confident. During post-processing, we kept adjusting the balance between the cold blue light, the skin tone, and the red of the outfit, because under such intense environmental coloration, it's incredibly easy to lose the inherent layers of the costume. However, the final result turned out to be a wonderful surprise—the red, black, and white colors maintained exceptionally high color purity within the cold light without any plastic texture. Furthermore, a lot of preparation went into the prop details; that long pole prop featuring a red fist shape at the tip decorated with a black-and-white bow tie was indeed quite heavy in hand. Yet it is exactly this substantial feeling that lends the captured photos greater persuasiveness. Honestly, shooting all day long was still a bit exhausting, given that this outfit has quite a few ornaments and the wig is very thick. But when you are sitting in a scene like this, coordinated with the photographer's cold lighting, watching that vividly colored, dynamically expressive character image come to life in the frame, you still feel everything was completely worth it. This immersive creative process is a pure enjoyment in itself.
