This Cartethyia Cosplay photoshoot from Wuthering Waves combines elf ears with a blue-and-white gradient tulle dress, shot against a backdrop of Gothic white walls and blue flowers. To anchor the aloof texture, the makeup emphasizes the eyelashes while toning down the eyeshadow, paired with cool-toned colored contacts to better match the character's detached micro-expressions.

This time, the main consideration was the high-key lighting of the studio, where the white Gothic arched windows and Roman columns provided a lot of negative space for the frame. During the shoot, the most effort went into showcasing the layers of the cloak's tulle material, ensuring it wasn't overexposed or dull. The on-site photographer helped adjust the lighting direction for several rounds to make the blue-and-white gradient light yarn present a transparent texture akin to flowing water ripples. Paired with the gold-threaded woven patterns, the visual contrast is exceptionally comfortable.

The custom prop longsword is also a highlight of this look. The translucent blade and golden accessories are not too heavy, but when held to strike a one-handed sword pose or a leaning posture, it beautifully guides the gaze toward the center of the frame. Additionally, for the few shots taken by the Roman columns, a low-speed fan was subtly used to sway the wig and skirt hem. The photos from the dynamic candid shots carry more tension than static sitting poses, fitting the agility within her temperament much better.

Regarding wearing the elf ears for this elf cosplay, I had previously tried several materials with different levels of transparency, but ultimately chose this pair of prosthetic ears that naturally transitions into the hair color. Paired with the blue teardrop-shaped bead string decorations on the head, the integration on camera is quite ideal. The shoot lasted about four hours that day, with most of the middle section spent repeatedly adjusting the position of the headpiece and the folds of the skirt hem to ensure that the costume details were visible from every angle.

Images with high exposure and large areas of white backgrounds indeed soften light and shadow easily, but they also eat away a bit of the props' edges. Therefore, the post-production mainly reverted to basic fine-tuning without adding too many flashy special effects, hoping to preserve the character's original expression and the authenticity of the costume materials to the greatest extent. This time, a high-back chair and Roman columns were chosen as auxiliary props, allowing me to naturally loosen up and execute movements, avoiding the stiffness that easily occurs when standing and looking directly at the camera. I believe many peers who enjoy aloof-style characters can find some composition and fashion inspiration from this themed look; it's a combination well worth trying for Anime-style photography.
